Default Internships

I recently had an interview about a summer internship at erac. What can you all tell me about erac's internships? What type of work will I be doing? What's the pay? I was told 30-35 hr/week...is that true or total bs? Is an internship there just as bad as any other job?
Thanks

Default internship

Typically they worked harder than an mt and will get paid less. Yet less is expected from them. You will wash cars, rent a lot of cars, and will deliver a lot of donuts. Be prepared to work way more than 35 hrs. You will probably be placed at the branch that is shortest of staff. Use it for what it is -experience. It will look decent on a resume.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, that is what I feared it would be like. Any other comments, is it worth it for building the resume?

As long as you do the internship only, I'd say it looks good. After soph year, get some good experience and, for college, the pay is more than minimum, which is good.

Just don't let them sucker you into staying on for the fall or entering the MT program. Seriously. Use the experience to get into a better internship after junior year, and find a company to intern for that will give you a shot at a decent job after graduation.

Use and abuse ERAC...and then let them go. That's what they will do to you.

Hey guys I am basically in the same spot, here... I have the interview with the area manager tomorrow for the management trainee internship at Laguardia Airport. Does anyone know about the area managers in the new york area? Are they good to work for? I have read so many bad reviews about this company that its making me think twice about even going to the interview tomorrow. But its an intern position so its part time and they said they would be flexible with my school hours. Does anyone have any experience in this? Any idea what i should expect?

I think that Enterprise is the worst job ever but I would have to tell you to definately do the internship. Unlike most Internships you will get paid at Enterprise. In addition, it will also give you a better idea of what you like and dislike about a job which you can use when you go job hunting after you graduate and enter 'real life'. Believe me, it doesn't get any 'more real' than washing a Suzuki Aerio in a shirt and tie.

I had a great experience on my internship. Lots of great people and my manager was really funny.

Dude seriously, you're fighting a losing battle. Nobody in their right minds has fun during an internship with ERAC. An intern at ERAC is being a car prep who makes half the money.

People please!!!! Do not and I repeat do not work for ERAC!! It is the biggest fraud known to man. Since when did it become legal to skip lunch and force people to eat pizza 5 days a week? My last day is this week. After two long years at ERAC, I finally saw the light. My dreams of making it big ran out just as soon as the crack I was smoking ran out. Thats when reality set in and I realized that this place is just a legalized bull sh@t factory. And Enterprise knows how to get the most bang for their measely buck. Where else can you get a car washer, salesman, repo man, police officer, donut server, bill collector, driver, secretary, and handyman for the price of one. Yes folks! Step right up. All of this can be had for just a mere $28,000 a year! And thats not all!! If you purchase now, we'll even throw in a free cooler from last year's bonuses or some complimentary crack pipes or old chicken wing bones that someone graciously left behind in a vehicle. I don't care what anybody says about Enterprise. It's a myth and you will be 30 yrs. old looking like 52 years old by the time Enterprise gets finished mopping your ass across the floor. This website is the best invention since Hertz!! Ha Ha. You can't deny that Erac is garbage. The only thing I learned was how to keep people from jumping over the counter and whooping my ass for not having their car here after making a reservation two weeks in advance. Yeah, that got me a lot of cool points on my resume! RIP ERAC.
