| OK, I just turned off the "random slant" option. I want to defeat computers but not humans... __________________ "Don't worry about what anybody else is going to do. The best way to predict the future is to invent it." -- Alan Kay |

| ok, i've browsed the site a couple times and had a moment to think, yea, I'm a recent college grad and was offered the job and accepted it (management trainee sounded pretty good), lol...however, now, i'm unsure. although i do think that different regions probably have different circumstances...i was hired in the new orleans region--does anyone have any insight about that area? i'm goin in with high hopes--does anyone have any advice?! |

To be honest with you, with the way the economy is heading for the next few years, a job at Target or ERAC for an ill-prepared fresh college grad like you wouldn't be so bad. |

| I like the idea of telling the recruiter on the phone that you read this website and that you don't want to work for them or even better....!!!! Breeze through the first interview and then the second, get all the way through the third interview and then look the regional rental manager in the face, ask about the code of ethics enterprise follows, then ask about "ghost upsells" and if thats real. After you get the line of BS they are sure to feel you, tell him or her you read this website and you don't think you want to work for the company, but let them offer you the position first, then turn them down. Huge red flag will pop up when they don't say they will call you after the interviews are done, they hire you on the spot. The reason is even if the next 5 people are good as well, they really need all 5 people in the branches, because 6 just quit or got "fired" last week. |

A lot of the stuff on this site is a little exaggerated, but it's all based on things that actually go on in the branch. It's not a cult and it's not a pyramid scheme. It's a large company that rents cars. No matter what dream the recruiters and interviewers try to sell you, it all comes down to the fact that you rent cars. A lot of the company functions are based around drinking. Happy Hours, company parties, managers meetings, etc. all involve alcohol. You don't have to drink it, but it's free so it's kind of hard to pass up. You will probably find yourself hanging out with people you work with, just due to the fact that you can all relate to each other when most people can't. It's hard to explain to your friends that renting cars is a hard job, that you are constantly stressed and run down. You get paid by the hour until you become an assistant manager, then it's base salary (usually around $28-$30K) plus commission from there up. There are no quotas per say but you are pushed to sell Damage Waiver to somewhere in the range of 35 - 40% of the people you rent to. Promotions are based on your ability to sell, so there's definitely pressure there. Is it worth it to take a job there? It depends on what your goals are. It sounds like you've already got some worthwhile experience so I'm not sure how much good Enterprise would do for you. But, it is a job and it will show that you have work ethic and are willing to put in hours. If you've already been a financial advisor, the training program won't be anything new to you but if you're goal is to get in to say Pharmaceutical sales then it would look good on your resume. Will you like it? Depends. If the management team you're working for has their shit together it can be a decent place to work, you'll get lunch breaks and you'll probably work around 50 hours a week. When they don't, it can get really ugly, really quick. Short or no lunches, 55 to 60 hour weeks or more and generally a bad work environment. As you can tell by the overall number and general content of posts on this board, most management teams do not have it together. Every large company has it's BS, it's politics and it's shady behavior. In my experience there was just much, much more of it at Enterprise then at other companies I've worked for. To sum it up, It's all about options. Do you have anything else on the table right now? If so, I'd take a really good look at any other possibilities before taking a job with Enterprise. __________________ this aggression will not stand, man. |

| good gpa, biology major with a change of plans--going to nursing school in a year--already found the right program and everything! i'm just looking for a "career" for about a year to stack some cash! Is it REALLY that bad?!!!! can anyone from the new orleans branch give me a typical daily run down? also can anyone tell me how a typical 1st day goes? orientation? anything would help! |
| |||
| Your daily day goes like this. day 1. you meet for orientation and fill out paperwork. you go to your branch where they make you go drive cars around all day. you get no lunch and get home by 6:30. day 2. they just throw you to the wolves. 7:45-6 of no lunch. customers yell at you, your managers dont support you. its god awful. by week three you are ready to quit. |

I'm glad you've turn that shit down! Sometimes, when I'm trying to make a post, it takes forever!! Anyway . . . how's your suit with Watie and his mom coming? Still grabbing at straws, huh? I feel for you Admin. I really do. This guy has made you completely reshape you website, file lawsuits and even made you wary of talking to people here . . . other than registered members. He's even made the traffic here slump :( If any of your online community can help, please just ask. |
