Default Thinking about it....

Seems to me the biggest problem people have is A.) The hours and B.) Washing cars in suits.

These seem to be coming from people who want to sit behind a desk on thier ass all day and work 40 hours a week.....now i can make 31 Gs a year at ERAC or make 25 a year at a call center working 40 hrs a week.....

I'll take ERAC.....

Say something.

i never wanted to sit behind a desk and waste my life away...while working at ecrap, if i wasn't washing cars in a suit, kissing dirt bag customers and bodyshop slobs asses, picking up/dropping off people...guess what i was doing? sitting on my ass trying to catch up with all the paperwork i was in charge of.
at erac you wear many hats...the ones i previously mentioned, plus a accounting hat, a collection hat, and a sales hat. and these hats are proudly worn while sitting on your miserable ass, which for most people will start to grow with the erac lifestyle of fast food/beers.
so anyway, after working the dream for a few years i got wise and said fuck this.
quit, went to get some more schooling, and now i have job i love...and btw, i don't sit on my ass all day, proly 10 hours outta 40 i'm relaxing on my arse, surfing the web like right now.
i suggest, young man, that you really think this thru...those that you are reading about on this site are speaking truth, don't discount what we have to say, we lived it you haven't.

if you have a degree, get a job in your field. if you have a shit degree like i had (liberal arts) consider getting a masters. if you have no degree join the military and get some training.
a tour in iraq is much more appealing than living the slave e life

I may sit at a desk all day, but I am doing real work that actually affects people. I work 35 hours a week and make more then I ever did at ERAC. I actually use my degree, I don't have to where a shirt and tie 9although sometimes I do), I don't have a uniform like ERAC does (business casual, polos in warm weather), no suits, no people yelling at me. Seriously, I can't believe at ERAC getting yelled at was a daily occurance. And management always took the customer side, even when they were dead wrong. Nice that the company backs its employees. Seriously, not much of a choice here.

I work long hours now. I don't mind working long hours. However, if I am working long hours and not being appreciated and being yelled at for most of them then I don't much care for it.

I don't mind washing cars either. I don't see why we had to wash cars in suits. It ruined ties, nice shoes, and was generally uncomfortable and all the sweat made the suite look bad.

There are plenty of other opportunites out there, I'd go with the call center until I found something better.

ERAC isnt too bad. Once you get that dead look in your eye because you've come to realize every customer looks down on you and you dont care anymore...and once the taste of McD's = gruel and you no longer agree with the slogan "Im luvin it""....and on repos you'll knock on any crackhouse door to get a car back and you dont care if they pop a cap in you or not...and finally when you see the road construction worker holding the "stop/slow" sign and think he/she seems to enjoy their job more than you do and you kind of envy them. At that point, its not too bad. The spirit has been taken out of you; you're like a horse thats been broken by extreme beating..no spirit, will do what you're told but no more no less. Its a paycheck.
Yeah...sure, Ill take ERAC over sitting behind a desk anyday.
