I have my final interview late next week and have 2 questions that don't seem to be answered (I mean by erac or by this site). 1. Repo? are Mt really responsible for this? Please explain. 2. Is there some unwritten "white shirt rule" for women I should be aware of?
| |||
1. Repo: Taking a delinquent customer's rental back from them. The "creme de la creme" of dirtbags, usually cash retail customers. Yes, MT's get sent on them routinely. I was a jerk when I was a BM. Whoever wrote the contract was sent along with the assistant manager who was working the cash file. I had a good reason to. Sometimes you'll be sent "as a huge favor" to the assistant or BM. To help the team. LMFAO! 2. No unwritten rule of the white shirt. But if you're hot, you will be subject to the unwritten of rule of being the branch's body shop Betty. Wearing some less than conservative clothing when marketing shops. HLE, Advantage, Southwest (GP32 competitor) and everyone else bring their marketing honeys. So, ERAC must compete. No manager will admit this, but most know it's good business. So if that makes you squeamish, gain weight. lol

As an MT, you may even be required to perform stake outs for cars from drugged out customers. My own horror story came about when my horrible manager named Craig forced me to go to the worst area of New Jersey and wait for a drugged out customer. If I didn't go, I would be fired. I found the car and a very high customer in the back seat. I woke him up and was nearly killed when he weilded a knife at me. I took a nick in the arm and finally the car. My boss Craig, however, did not care that I was injured and forced me to come into work the next day. Because he was in so well with the higher ups, it was his work vs. mine. Don't work for that worthless company....they don't care about you and your well being

I am a 10yr exec with the company and can give you honest answers to your questions: 1. Repos....As a manager I would have never sent a MT on a repo. That said Enterprise is a very decentralized company where at times people sometimes make the wrong decision. I will also tell you that the three step interview process (you are currently going through) knocks a lot of the people out who would make improper decisions and may not be a good fit for ERAC. So, final answer....it is VERY unlikely, especially if you voice your concerns. 2. White shirts.....no. We are a very professional company where we ask for professional dress. White shirts are preferred for the men. I would recommend reaching out to the HR department of the region you are looking at as they can answer your questions very well on this matter. 3. Some of what is said about the company is true in regards to the demand expected from employees who work for the company. I don't know of many other companies who ask for more from their people.......BUT I don't know of ANY company who offers more opportunity for their people. Do yourself a favor and go to some of the offices....ask the employees there what they like and what they don't like. Truly decide if this is a position for you. If it is, and you make the most of it, you will not be sorry. If not, that is okay too, I hope the best for you. Every exec. at our company was once a MT and there are many out there.......how could so many be wrong. The answer...they aren't.

10 year executive huh? You must be up someones ass real high up there. 1. Regardless of your position, you WILL perform repo's. It doesn't matter what kind of danger you will be in and it doesn't matter what time it is. They might even call you during the holiday's to perform a repo. 2. They will hire anyone. The reason is this.....they are DESPERATE for people. They lose twice the amount of people they bring in. Let's face it, if you work there it is just for the old resume to be built up. 3. Go to a branch and see the tired, expressionless looks on the people who haven't had a lunch or a Saturday off in three months. I got one for you, ask an MT why his hours are changed in the system when he worked 50 hours, he is being paid for 42 hours? Do yourself a favor, don't work for this company. By the way, a 10 year exec at this company would not go on this website. If he did, he would at least put his name on this board.

That is right, go to any office and talk to the brainwashed masses.... I was there for ten nyears, my first week there, what did I do? You guessed it, a REPO. My AM had me go with him, for experience, and had me go to the door, which I then was chased by a dog, had to hop the fence to avoid being bitten. Torn slacks, did ERAC offer or reimburse, no. I am sorry, but ERAC really does not teach you truly viable traits for the business world. Many of the BM, even AM did not have a clear understanding for profit and loss and risk management. You were always told to "roll the dice" if your bad debt was too low (?)...never got that. then of course when a rental did go bad, that mentality went out the door. Also, I am sorry but ERAC has always used the term "Marketing" incorrectly. The staff did sales calls, a far cry from what actual marketing was. Delivering donuts, or bagels, and the ever popular pizza was such a "good" way tp build the customer base. It always surprised me when a situation arose and there was a problem with a dealer or BS that even the RRM call for action was to...take them lunch....yea, that will solve all the problems. Virtual MBA?......sure if an MBA now encompasses car washing and typing up a rental contract......

I'll tell you this much...I was promised 25-26k per year to start...my W2 shows I made $19,900 last year. I have since left for a company at entry level where I will make by the end of the year 50K...AT ENTRY LEVEL!!! (Truth is this company knows how to share their money with employees) There are "GOOD" jobs/career choices out their, but ERAC isn't one of them. I made it with ERAC for over a year, and I would rather strarve then go back. Randy S.

dress code for women seemed flexible, so you did not always have to wear a white shirt. as for the repo thing, as an MT i went on a few repos, and staked a couple of houses out. I was chased by a man with a knife when i jumped in the rental and started up the car in his driveway and drove off with him chasing me in his underwear down the street. i have to admit, it was slightly amusing. but there were times that i was in some shady parts of town in the dark.. that i have to say were "interesting" I would say it depends on the manager you get. and plus. you are of the female gender. i doubt they would ask you to do that. but my best advise would be, keep looking at some other jobs, see what you like out there, if it ends up being enterprise, it is a learning experence

How many unpaid days off did you take? Did you actually work 40 hours per week? I have no idea how you could end up making less than 20k in a year with Enterprise, considering the typical amount of overtime, etc. There is more to that number than meets the eye. |
