Re: Anyone Thinking Of Working There Click Here! I worked in ERAC for almost 2 full years. I only did it because I was an international student and at the time when I graduated they were the only ones sponsoring work visas. What a nightmare. In those 2 years I have had 4 different branch managers and the number of trainees who have come and gone are too many to count. The managers; one was fired for stealing from the office cash reserve, one was fired because he kept running away from work and doing his business he had on the side (while the assistant managers had to run the place), one moved to another division of ERAC, and one was promoted to Area manager but I heard that soon after he was fired "because his numbers were bad". Also, a manager from another office was always complaining to me how she is constantly broke and the area manager was actually lending her money all the time. Her problem was that she was in a very low traffic area and no matter what she did she couldn't improve the branch numbers. She quit too. The assistant managers; these guys usually work the hardest expecting to get that promotion, but as soon as they do they put them in a smaller office where they end up making less money than before. One guy, who was a very loyal employee and a "believer" finally got promoted to manager, but they put him in a "problem" branch and fired him 3 months later when he couldn't "fix" it. As far as myself; I was constantly sleep deprived, woke up every work day thinking if I should call in sick because I couldn't take it anymore, gained weight (all fat), had to listen to customers bitch at me for things that were not my fault, had a lady ask me if her teenage son could maybe work for us during the summer and shocked her when I told her that he would need a college degree, got harassed by managers over the phone on the one day I did call in sick until I had to come in anyway, and the list goes on and on. Oh yes, during hurricanes the area manager (who was not at work because he was putting up shutters on his house) told us we can't go home because we are "emergency personnel". Oh yes, the best for last: My area manager was fanatical about never turning down a customer, even if you have no cars anywhere near the office and reservations up to your ears (which is company policy). He would call pretending to be a customer to see if we would take his reservation. And when the customers piled up in all of his offices in the area and we had no cars for them he would turn off his cell and let us in the branches take the beating from justifiably upset customers. And by the way, you can't get promoted unless you sell the "DW". It's all about selling DW, which is, I would say, 80% or more location, location, location. A person working in a low income area, airport, resort, etc. has no problem selling the damned thing, while someone stuck in a dealership or servicing insurance customers all day long...good luck. And when you say anything about it they tell you that "they understand that and take it into consideration", which is bullshit because they bitch at you every day while the other person working in an "easy" branch is a star. This company sucks ass. |
