Yup, the women wash and vacuum in their skirts.

My experience was the females manned the phones and counters only, guys did a little of everything. I never saw a woman wash a car and rarely go out on pickups. C'mon I know other branches know what I am talking about, every branch has that bitch who takes a call and then begs someone else to get the customer.

Default hmmm...

Well, I have just spent the last two hours reading every single post to this thread. It was slightly disheartening, I admit. It is after 2 a.m. where I live and I have my third (final) interview tomorrow morning. I am worried. I have just graduated in May and am a realist-I would say. I have been wholeheartedly searching for a job but, as I reside in Michigan, I suffer the dwindling economy.

The little information packet that I recieved after my first interview says that there are over 65,000 employees of ERAC. How many could be posting on this site? I truly am just trying to put it into perspective. I am an intelligent guy and have great ambitions, ERAC not being one of them. I want to use this as a stepping stone until I save enough money to pay for the grad school I want to attend. But, I am an avid gym enthusiast and LOVE my family/personal life and am very threatened by the possibility of losing that.

Point being: from the looks of all of the replies, I feel quite certain that getting this job is not as difficult as I surmised. (I prepped quite extensively) I will take it, probably, and just F them over if need be. I will gain the experience and suffer the malevolance until I leave. Thanks to everyone for all of their opinions, I will probably still take this job for the need of cash flow...but will have no qualms about quitting suddenly. thanks again!!!

I live in Michigan too...so I can sympathize...couple of tips:

EVERY chance you get pump out your resume..use sick days, etc to interview.

Try a different method to get a gig...use some college buddies and parents' friends.

You say you're going to grad school...try to find a research or assistant position with the University.

Run like hell from Enterprise when you get something. They will BEG you to stay and say all sorts of bullshit of this is the best, blah, blah...trust your gut..

And last..grab your ankles, stick your head firmly between your legs...and kiss your ass good-bye...cause you are going to be absolutely miserable.

The job picture in Michigan is bad, or so I have heard. If you need the money, you should take the job. Just remember though, it will be next to impossible to look for another onw while employed by ERAC. When that time comes to find another job or go back to grad school, make a clean break and never look back.

This is a great company. My CM is banging one of his managers doesn't say anything for 6 months then when found out all they do is transfer her outside area. Oh wait! She was the right person for the job. Later he covers up a DUI and then the same guy DUI's again! This company is a frat house party. I'm out

christ this has all been a bit de motivatin, got an interview soon that i was quite excited about, surely all the branches cant be this bad, surely it depends on ur Branch manager, the money seems good to me i know the hours are long but surely the work cant be that demanding, i love driving and the chance of doing repo's seems quite fun to me. is there no chance of overalls for washing cars that can stop your suit gettin dirty? the prosepct of learning a lot of business operating material seems quite a good oppurtunity, if u work hard and become branch manager surely u can make ur branch a better place to work? if its a case of workin like a donkey for 2 years for the chance of promotion that doesnt seem too bad, i still want the job even after reading these which is probably more fool me but i would say that in most jobs you get over worked. my parents work over 12 hrs a day and still work when they come home in the evening and this is why they are successful so as long as the work stops when ur out of the office then its not too bad, id rather have a job that works me 10 hrs a day in the office than 8 hours in the office and 4 hours at home. the one thing i am now worried about is my relationship suffering but at this young age we do have the best years ahead of us so its a case of take the shit now and eventually you will benefit from it.

we will see, if i get the job il let you all know how i feel then,
