Default I'm glad you quit

I can't believe what I'm reading - a bunch of self-absorbant image-obsessed young adults who think that because they graduated from college they are entitled to a job where they work 40 hours a week with a $65K+ salary...
Granted, I don't work at enterprise, but I hardly think that the place could succeed as a business and yet be the physical manifestation of evil (as you describe it).
You want a reality check? Name jobs that a high-school grad COULDN'T do. I bet you end up with a lot of highly specialized fields not in the basic service sector. The truth is your education proves you are able to tackle problems and have perseverence to see things through (in theory), NOT that you are the creme de le creme of 20somethings and immediately deserve an exec job in the corner office on the 36th floor with a jag, a mansion, and a $300K salary.
The truth is that is you disgruntled ex-ERAC employees obviously didn't take the time to examine your rights as hired labor. You probably just bowed and scraped and groveled at your BM's feet hoping that they would at a whim promote you and absolve you of all work and responsability. When that didn't happen you were so pissed off that you didn't bother to voice your concern to your boss but to come here and blow off all your steam only to crawl back to a job you hated with your tail between your legs. If you were so upset at how you were treated then why didn't you ever confront your boss. What's the worst the could have done? Fire you? You were going to quit anyway and if they fired you you would at least get severance. Or better yet, if they fired you wrongly you could sue them for discrimination. Did you ever stop to think that if you ever took some intiative to improve your station in life that things might improve?
You all agree that you work hard for 2 years then move on to bigger and better things where the rest of the business world respects your credentials, so what's the problem? The job isn't easy, but you prove your worth and use it as a stepping stone. I guarantee there is a lot more potential for advancement there than selling cell phones in a mall.
As for the 'debasement' of your personal image....how dare they ask you to sell your service to client...the humanity! Did you ever stop to think there are people in this country that suck shit out of port-a-johns for a living? You only felt degraded because you degraded yourself. ERAC didn't do that to you - you had an opportunity to overcome a challenge AND YOU LET IT OVERCOME YOU! And now you're here bitching about it.
Your moral character? Can anyone on here tell me exactly how ERAC compromised their moral fiber? By not having exactly the car available that the customer wanted? By making you wash cars? By asking that you reclaim the property of your organization from an individual who stole it? Or did they make it a policy to steal people's wallets and purses? The truth is that you were required to enforce policies and you didn't have the character to do it. Ever stop to think why every other major corporation respects your experience? Probably not, but I'll make it easy for you: ERAC is the same as any other business and they all want the same things in their management personnel.
Well you know what? I'm glad you quit. I'm glad to see that a management training program weeds out the self-serving snot-nosed punks that only think of themselves first and have no idea the kind of personal strength it takes to run an organization and lead people.

Having never worked at ERAC you will never "get" the concerns that many here have. Why haven't you worked there? Scared you couldn't hack it?

I would have said the same thing you did before working at ERAC. But, I have now worked at ERAC for seven months and I do not agree with you nor my former self any longer. Sure I think the stepping stone concept helps a lot of individuals but this job is a life style. Personally I would rather work in the human waste business than at ERAC.

ERAC is not as bad as all theses lazy wussy bitches say it is. I was a mechanic and an auto center manager before my career with enterprise. "long hours low pay" ever heard of a TEST. you might also realize that you right more tickets and do a lot more bitch work as an MT. Yes you do...; but you know if you excel you move quick. I have always been good in sales and i love cars. I don't mind washing cars or picking up customers and REPO's are fun to me. I guess i like a little danger. It took me about a week to get the hang of things at enterprise and soon i was the best performer there. My 4th week on the job i was by myself at the airport for 10 hours. AHHHH wow is me hahahah. just kidding only pussies wine about long hours. Its called motivation. I'm not to good to write contracts or wash cars or go on repos i will do what ever it takes to succeed at any job i have. I came from a poor family and know the rewards of working hard. If you let these people on this site scare you then you shouldn't work in the real world. Work is Work. I put 5 years of my life in to the job i had before and 60 hrs a week. and made less then i did the 2nd year at ERAC. there is not another company on the planet that will take you out and get you wasted if you want after work. If you don't drink they will take you to dinner or golfing or what ever you want. They treat people well. they realize the long hours we put in and they do there best to recognize that. oh and the guy who says they have to re up there work force every year because people quit is full of shit they have a 82% retention factor and thats a fact look it up stupid. i will not lie to the people out there its long hours hard work sometimes but there is a great social atmospher and good people. take it from a guy who has been with the company, .....lets just say a while.

Sounds like you live to work, not the other way around. Whatever floats your boat, man. But many on this board would rather enjoy life differently than you would. Doesn't mean they don't work hard or are afraid of working hard, but we'd rather just not. You don't have to dedicate your entire being to a company to succeed. As for being at the airport by yourself for 10 hours...must have been a small ass airport branch. 82% retention is a interesting # as well. Where CAN I look that up? Is it located up your ass? Sounds like you've placed yourself in fields that require long hours and feel that anyone that doesn't put in that kind of time is not a hard worker. Sounds pretty ignorant to me, but what do I know..I guess I'm a "lazy wussy bitch." Keep up with that hard ass approach to life and you keep taking your TEST, but make sure you bring your #2 pencil and your own scantron everyday. You sound like an ass. And let me guess how long you've been that way....let's just say.........for a while?

Are you friggin kidding me?!?!?!?! ERAC is a horrible organization!!! Look at it this way, you are making less than a McDonalds or Burger King employee and they don't require a college education. ERAC doesn't even offer a decent 401k plan, THEY DON'T EVEN MATCH. And don't even get me started on the lack of employee development or incentives. This company blows and I hope it goes under.

Go UNDER!!! ha this is a fortune 500 company. this company has no lack of profit. If i told how long i worked for the company you might just be able to figure out who i am and that would be a bad thing. As for live to work, yes your very right i do live to work why not???? i'd rather work than sit on my ass. I have a wonderful fiance that is very beautiful and a great personal life. I get off work at 6 every night and often go see a movie or do somthing else fun. Successful people live to work look at the statistics the average business owner works 16 hour days 5 days a week. Look it up in the july 16th issue of the wall street journal. people in this day and age make me sick. Look back at when people were happy like the 50's for example they did more phyiscal labor and longer hours and still had good happy lives. now days people look at work as if it is a burden. I on the other hand think of work as a way to prove your worth. And to the bugerking mcdonalds guy you may be right but if i worked there i would still strive to be the best at what i do. and just for the record a shirt and tie gets more ladies then a burgerking uniform. People in this generation have no work ethic. My point is that no matter what you do or how many hours you work you should always stive for greatness weather it be flipping burgers or writting contracts. i have never seen another company that can go from a 30thousand starting wage to a 66thousand dollar salary in only 4 years. Show me another company that can make that claim and maybe i will leave this company and go there until then i will continue to put my nose to the grindstone. remember college when we all had to study for hours sometimes days just to succeed and we paid them. no put that same effort in to enterprise and you can go far fast.
