Default Interview Process

I am a newbie here. I had two interviews so far. One phone interview and another face to face with HR. I advanced from both and am going to a 2-hour interview (including tour) at a branch in my vicinity.
I have a BA with a very high GPA. A couple years work experience though nothing extraordinary. What do you think my chances are advancing from the final interview? Did I already pass the hard interviews or is the last one the big filter?

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

It really depends on the people interviewing you. In the ideal situation, each of the interviewers has a unique perspective and is empowered to say 'yes' or 'no' without being influenced by the other two interviewers. If that is the case, you have a good shot on the third interview, but there are still no guarantees. If the third person is just a formality, you are in there already. So, in answer to your question, it is hard to say without knowing the people interviewing you. It varies from area to area. Good luck though!

Hope your GPA isn't too high... it will intimidate most at ERAC. Couple of things to consider. How much can you drink? Can you drink until 1:00am, then get up at 6:00am to get to work by 7:00am to pull a 12/13 hour shift? (and work like you got 10 hours sleep?)

If not, don't consider ERAC

Default Seriously

You have not gotten to the hiring interview until you have met with an Area Manager or higher.

All bets are off until you get to this point. Most likely the third interview. If you want the job, do not let your guard down.

Couple things to consider. The HR/Recruiter is paid off hires so unless the canidate is a total goober, they will pass them to round two. Next the Branch Manager's are generally not very good at interviewing, they hate to say no and they also are running a branch that is understaffed (most likely).

So, the rubber meets the road in the interview with the Area Manager or higher. It will most likely be decided in the first few moments of the interview whether you "fit" or not based on appearance, personality etc.

Default Hiring

Thanks for the prompt response. I am scheduled for a 2 hour interview at a branch in which half will be observing the business. The impression I get from your post is that this is not the last stage but rather there is yet another interview afterwards ( this stage seems to be the "branch manager" stage). What do you think would impress them in an interview, or for that matter, dissuade them from hiring me?

Default Kisses of death....

Here are the things that are on ERAC's radar screen. If you say/do anything to make them feel you don't have or can't master these things then you will get passed on.

Sales ability / desire
Customer service ability / desire
work ethic / willingness to do "whatever it takes"
good personality / outgoing
good looking / dressed well/conservatively
desire to be rewarded based on performance
desire to have a long term career

Make sure you have read up alot on ERAC and come across as knowing about the company. It is amazing how many people I used to interview that knew little to nothing.

If the area that your interviewing with is "typical", you will not get hired only if you have major "warts" in thier eyes.

Default Hiring

"If the area that your interviewing with is "typical", you will not get hired only if you have major "warts" in thier eyes."

In a previous post you seemed to allude to a certain degree of selectivity during this round of interview. In this post it seems like it is pretty easy to get the position. I read somewhere that Enterprise is on a hiring spree of sorts.

After reading one of the documents given to me by HR it seems afterall that I am having an interview with the AM which means either:
1. I am having an interview with both BM and AM consecutively
or...
2. I am having an interview with only AM which means either I was good enough to skip BM or a "this is the way we do things here" type of reason.

In any regards, the marketing materials so far have been impressive. This John Taylor character seems to be a legacy in the midwest. As a ballpark figure what percentage of candidates do you think are weeded out at the stage in the process that I am in (considering the current situation at ERAC)? Also I am surprised at your comment about HR. They are usually the most adept at interviewing skills and giving the "duplicitious you are an excellent candidate - rejection in the email" line.

Cheers

Default Re: Hiring

ERAC has lots of turnover and almost always needs people.

However, what I am trying to say is that, despite the need for people they will pass on you if you show the slightest inclination towards the "kisses of death" that I listed.

Since they already have a turnover issue in general, they will not hire someone who is pretty likely to turnover based on your interview responses... make sense?

If the area has bad turnover the BM may not be involved at all in the interviewing. In my estimation this is bad. The BM will be training you and needs to have a stake in your career by having chosen you along the way. Otherwise the ARM hires you and assigns you to a branch whether the BM likes you or not.

Also, get your founders right... JACK CRAWFORD TAYLOR (not John). :)

Default DON'T DO IT

You'd be better off donating sperm than working at that hell hole of a company.

Default What is the interview time frame?

If my first HR interview was Monday, when is the norm for when I would hear back from them? I thought the interview went very well and according to what all of you say they are looking for, I would fit right in – I’m a workslave! Any thoughts?
