Maybe admin should add a testimonial section to the site! I recently moved, and in the process of searching for a new job in my new location I was recommended to ERAC by a recruiting company. While interviewing and researching ERAC, I came across this site. At first, I thought "Oh another hate site, all huge companies have at least one". But after a little bit of perusing I realized that this place isn't filled with the usual assortment of disgruntled, fired ex-employees and people who don't understand customer service industries at all. I found that most people here are in fact very articulate and obviously have valid complaints! The ones who don't seem to actually be CURRENTLY employed, which worried me further. At this point, considering that I have a strong background and had several other opportunities ahead of me, I pretty much decided that ERAC was not for me. Still, I didn't want to just quit the process, so I went in. The recruiter this whole time had been very friendly and my impression was that I was doing quite well. The recruiter did not mention any of the common things mentioned on this board - long hours, washing cars, any of that. She did hand me the paperwork about the dress code (I think my favorite part is the "properly fitting undergarments" and "no beards unless medically necessary"). This was Monday morning, and she had huge dark circles under her eyes and at this point I figured that ERAC *really* wasn't for me. So, I mentioned that I had seen a lot of things on the internet including this website about how MTs are dissatisfied and have a high turnover rate. Her whole attitude changed! I thought it was funny to watch her try to sidestep all of the things I had already obviously learned online, without telling me that yes, this job is a soul-sucking horrorshow. Needless to say, I received my "rejection that isn't a rejection" a week later. I know that I probably could have gotten the position had I not intentionally antagonized her, and also that in my situation I might have accepted. I want to thank Failing Enterprise for saving me from this situation, as I have now been offered a position for more money, better benefits, and a 40-hour work week in a nicely air-conditioned office and business casual. THANK YOU!

I'm also particularly delighted that you mentioned FailingEnterprise to the recruiter. For a while now I've been suspecting that their recruiters are the ones who will be bringing pressure on management to fix these obvious problems. It seems most customers don't individually "choose" Enterprise, their insurance company does the choosing. But Enterprise still has to compete openly in the labor market, and if enough potential employees get the word and see the kind of horrow show they'd be signing up for, maybe we can effect change that way. Glad to be of help. It's what we're here for. __________________ "Don't worry about what anybody else is going to do. The best way to predict the future is to invent it." -- Alan Kay |

WELL DONE.....EXPECT A FEW CURRENT EMPLOYEES TO ATTACK YOU ON THIS THREAD AND TELL YOU THAT YOU DIDNT GET HIRED BECAUSE YOU SUCKED...I am sure you will ignore this though as you sound well grounded. You mentioned something that I found interesting as well....The fact that you were pushed into this by a recruitment agency.I would just like to tell all those people working with a recruitment agency right now that ERAC pays up to 3000 dollars a person that gets hired and a bonus for lasting 3 months so dont be fooled. The recruiter doesnt think ERAC is awesome...They think a nice fat paycheck would be....JUST A THOUGHT!

From the original poster... Yes, and it was a very sketchy recruitment agency. I had actually gone in there because I have some experience with recruitment and I was applying for a job . All the other candidates they interviewed that day ALSO walked out with a recommendation to ERAC, but no job with the agency. Can we say, hmmmm... Any current employees who want to bash me are welcome to. I'm sure there were a lot of reasons that I didn't get the job. I'm pretty clearly gay.. obviously smart, with a fair amount of integrity. Gee, why wouldn't a company like ERAC want me? =) To those of you still looking and considering Enterprise, please, please, the job market is looking up. You and your degree are worth MUCH more than they can give you, and you WILL get a better job.

This is from the original poster: Just a followup, since someone asked. Have worked here now for 9 months, am going up for my promotion and will be receiving maximum raise. I work 40 hours a week, making approximately what I would have made at ERAC at a 55-60 hour week (pre-raise, afterward ERAC can't touch my salary). My benefits package is full, I get 401k and other good options. I have never looked back from my decision except to prevent everyone I know from renting/buying/working for or from them. In fact, I convinced one person thinking of applying to come work here instead. Anybody still considering ERAC? Don't. The only way to change the company policy is to cut off their access to people like us. Their target market for their scam of a job is recent graduates without enough experience in how the world works to understand that their degree is worth more than washing cars in hose or a tie for garbage pay. That is the sort of job you do to PAY FOR SCHOOL, not now that you are done with school!
