Default For Newbies and Potentials please read..

this is something i saw on another site about erac ..
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
California -12 Airports
1. The hours are fucking rediculous. Who in thier right mind would agree to work 11:15am - 11pm, or 6am-5:15pm? This rivals slavery.
2. Having to carry the customers luggage is a bit much. My back hurts now from lifting these assholes heavy ass bags. God forbid you are on the shuttle and you have a full group - they just all seem to expect you to lift thier bags on the shuttle and off, and no shitty ass 2 dollar tip is worth throwing my back out. can u say lawsuit? workmans comp?
3. One weekend off every 7 weeks? are u fucking kidding me? Is this boot camp ,military training, or a damned 30k/year job?
4. Nothing says good morning like walking in at 11:15am and seeing 20 customers waiting outside, with 3 vehicles on the lot. How much verbal abuse can we take from these people? do we deserve this treatment? Enterprise puts us in an uncompromising position everyday it seems - the system of cars/availibility needs work to say the least.

The Verdict is in - Enterprise is Found Guilty on all counts of Exploiting Fresh impresionable grads, Underpaying them, taking advantage of employees by having them wash cars, vaccum & sweep offices, drive shuttles,& lift luggage while requiring a college degree, long sleeve white shirt, no facial hair (give me a goddamned break) suits & ties. they have asked too much from thier employees under the guise of being a "team player" . They use mind control tactics on impresionable young adults making them believe this is the best opportunity in life when it clearly is not.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

i currently work for erac at sfo and agree .. you just need to ask yourself can you work long hours, can you be okay with being disrespected and underpaid and misled about career advancement and growth .. if you need a job and want to work on sales, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills .. also if you can come into terms that this opportunity is a stepping stone for you then you should consider it .. but if any of this makes you feel uncomfortable then it definitely does not suit you .. dont disappoint yourself because when you work for erac that statement will never arrise because erac cares about numbers and the team and not individuals unless youre a favored person ..

I am a ERAC employee (but not by choice, which is why I am currently looking to get out of this hell hole). Let me warn you before you get started at this dredful company. I have seen so many injustices within this company. I am in the Admin Office and I see that budding college grads coming in for interviews being mislead to think they actually have a future there. I have seen woman sleep with higher ups to get where they are going. I have seen men do the same. Bottom line is, if you aren't one of there "favorites" you aren't going anywhere!!! They only look out for there own. I have seen African-American employee's work a position wonderfully for years and when they go to interview for a higher position, they get bumped for Non-Black employee's that have only been there for 6 months. I have seen so much and this company sickens me. I have heard of them covering up employee losses so that Supervisors/Managers won't lose their company vehicle.

This company is so behind in the times, making the females where pantyhoes in 90 degree heat, no open-toe shoes, shirts MUST have sleeves or you have to wear a jacket, no mule heels (even if they are dressy), and you must wear suits. The men MUST wear white shirts and ties/suites EVERYDAY. We never get casual or even business casual days, not even on Fridays. There are absolutely no incentives while working with this company. This past year my office have done a 90% turnover. Then they brainwash you and try to scare you out of finding a new job by calling you into the office and repremanding you if the Recruiting Dept. finds your resume posted on Monster or HotJobs. I heard they revised the handbood where they can fire you now if they find it there.

There was this one grad (female) that I knew that they got her to come work there and she had a undergrad in Business and her MBA and they were actually pissed that she went back to school to get her MBA. Reason being...........The damn Business Manager of the Accounting Manager didn't even have their MBA. But guess what....they had her working as thier assistant making $32K a year.

You have to fight tooth and nail to get a raise and if you aren't best friends with a Manager or something, a promotion is out of the question. Lucky for me, I came straight into the Admin office and didn't have to suffer through rental, but I have heard so many horror stories about it. Washing cars in your suit in 90 degree heat, taking major crap from customers, the long endless hours. If I had to do it all over again I would NEVER have worked here. It pisses me off when they send around their fiscal year end earnings emails saying they made 8 billion, when I am only getting $33K. Oh and lets not forget how they literally bully you every year to donate part of out measly bullsh*t paychecks to United Way. On many occasions they tell the unknowing new hires that it is mandatory to donate (which is how they got me on my first year with ERAC). And every year after I decline to donate once, they will call me in their office and ask "why?". They'll keep putting donation slips on my desk. I mean its just ridiculous!!! Can you say "HARRASSMENT"!!!

If you have another choice for employement other than ERAC, then run for your life and take the other job.

do not take a job at this company. i work there and hate it. i have never worked so hard in my life and gotten so little in return. i've seen many people drop like flies all because they got smart and found something 100% better. this job will suck you in and shit you out. when you get your first promotion, chances are it will be a demotion. this job is the worst thing you could ever do to yourself.

I love lamp (yes! The seriously retarded ARE my friends). Anyone working day-to-day at ERAC without seeing their time there as a necessary stepping stone is more than seriously retarded though - I see them in a similar light as chronic alcoholics or meth junkies. While those around them can see the obvious damage they do to their own lives and are capable of seeing life changing opportunities around them - they themselves cannot, or will not.

The person that posted the message earlier that they worked at ERAC but not "by choice" is quite possibly not indicating a lack of back-bone or personal motivation. Rather they are indicating they are not working for the company they had wanted to work for - yet they got a job to pay their own way in life regardless. Does this show a lack of back-bone?

Am I seriously retarded? Quite possibly. Are the seriously retarded my firends? Absolutely. Do I believe in the ERAC dream (and this is why I can honestly claim my own retardation to be fact)? I did once, for a few weeks. I worked at ERAC for 7 months - at an in-town branch then at an airport location. I often enjoyed my time there as well due to the fun co-workers and fast pace. Did I get fired or asked to leave? Nope, a friend of mine goit me an interview with her company and I am now an Account Executive, a 100% acceptable salary and benefits package, and a 40hr/wk schedule. And just a clarifying note to tie this all together... at least 80% of the ERAC employees I met were actively interviewing for jobs outside of ERAC because: 1) they did not like their jobs, 2) they could not survive on ERAC wages, and 3) they were becoming violently ill when hearing the same motivational phrases being used by upper management over and over and over.

So - I guess I am retarded. I worked for ERAC. I now get to say that I am retarded and truly enjoy my work now... if you would excuse me I need to put my football helmet back on and take my lithium dose. Retardation has its benefits.

OK here the deal... I spent the past year at ERAC. I enjoyed it to it a point. However, the things I learned about business and about myself are things that are hard to learn elsewhere. Now as an assistant who has enough I have put myself out there and had employers throwing everything at me because of my ERAC experience. I am now about to accept a sales job for a national print company doing outside sales. However, without having ERAC on my resume I would have never even gotten an interview. The hiring manager even told me it was because of my ERAC job that he wanted to interview me. Bottom line it that the job will suck and you will be under paid and overworked however learn all that you can about business, marketing, and yourself and when the opportunity comes knocking answer the door and run as quickly as you can!
