Thinking About Enterprise (Even though it's against my better judgment) Hi, I'm new to this site and have seen/read some of the posts/features of the site. I've rented from the past from Enterprise (and felt completely disgusted at the employees' attempts to kiss-up to my mother/me) and was happy to have an additional car for a couple of days. The guy doing the kissing-up then forgot my name as soon as I brought the car back and called me someone else. Then he wonders why I just gave him the keys and why I wasn't that friendly..... Anyway, I was riding back with the branch manager on the way to pick up my car from the shop and he asked me what I do and if I have a job. And 'why I haven't considered Enterprise?' I just said I wanted a job somewhere and it didn't really matter to me where. I currently work, so getting another job was the furthest thing on my mind. I'm also a college grad, so I know that's why I was zeroed-in. I'm somewhat supicious because I viewed myself as a customer and I didn't really want to talk. Also, I tend to view employment as something that someone shouldn't have to be 'sold' on in order to work -- if I can make just as much somewhere else and learn the same things, it doesn't make a big difference. Also, I could tell he had some 'kool-aid' about working there. I started to suspect it was a 'sales pitch' because of the frequent mentioning of how 'the other trainees are being moved up' and things like that. Still, I applied for a position and will try to talk to the guy for an interview (but that doesn't mean I'll let myself be pressured easily). I also don't think the interview will be really an interview. I wanted to get your thoughts and whether any of you have encountered similar behaviors from associates/managers at Enterprise. |
