Default Interview tomorrow...

I'm a college student, and I'm working two part-time jobs..one on 3rd shift. A recruiter contacted me yesterday about coming in for an interview tomorrow afternoon. I was just wondering if this is going to be the first part of the 3 part interviews? I just don't have time for that. I came across your board because I heard some bad things about the company. I'm interviewing for the "manager trainee" program. I'm a 21 year old female....any advice???

If you are a full time college student, I would STRONGLY reccomend against it. Part time....it's a possiblity. Enterprise is long hours, count on at least 55 a week. Are you getting by with what you are making now at the the other two jobs? If you are, I would probably stay put or see if Enterprise could offer an intership position. you will gain sales skills and both employers and recruiters love to see Enterprise experience on the resume. What is your major? Is it business oriented? You would have to ask yourself which positions offer the best experience, your current employers or Enterprise.

It's probably redundant advice at this point, but I'd recommend wandering about in this discussion board. Also, see the page on being an Enterprise Rent-A-Car Management Trainee on the home page of the site.

It depends where you are (what branch)...you could end up liking it and it could be rewarding in one way or another, on the other hand, again depending where, It could be a bad move.

I recommend you cancel your interview. This company will drain the life out of you. Utilize you school for opportunities, ie. job fair, counselors, etc. ERAC is for people with no direction. You can find a better job than ERAC.

I wish I had someone tell me about ERAC before I interviewed & took the job. My suggestion, you're young & there are many opportunities out there, ERAC does not give you an opportunity. They drain you. I was just out of college & was hired and I can kick myself for waisting my time, an entire year when I could have been doing something more productive & satisfying. After ERAC I was hired by Florida Hospital, it is a great position & a great organization to work for, in addition I am making more money & only a 40hr week. In addition I don't have to worry about getting a day off before or after a holiday.

Think twice. If you accepted & are currently an employee. I urge you to be aware of your surrounding. By this I mean your BM & Above.

Good luck.

I work for Enterpise, have worked her for 8 years and left a career as an quality control engineer. yes I took at thirty thousand dollar pay cut and had to put up with a lot of shit for 3-4 years, but any company you work at, it takes time to get to the top. Yes we work long hours, yes we have to deal with the public, but you people have got to look at what this company really is. There is a lot of bullshit that happens at every company....am I wrong. please prove me wrong. This company has more money in cash reserves than most privately held companies in the world, there bond rate is a. no person has ever been laid off due to econimic reasons. This is a very stable company. Not to many around like that anymore. I have worked for many companies. Not that this job is for everyone, but you people who sit here and talk shit about it, get a life for gods sakes. Don't diss on a company because you can't hack it you losers. This girl mike like it, she might hate it, but let her make her decision, not you idiots.
I make 150,000/year, have a great life with a great house on the beach, and believe me, i don't work 55 hours a week. That is only the first couple years my friends. All you losers who talk shit couldn't hack it. I am sure you are all doing much better now......

Ah yes, the incredible "couldn't hack it" catch all. That must be a mandatory statement embedded in the heads of the bought in cult.

I left the shit hole after a year and a half. I currently am a manufacturer rep for a medical device company with a base salary of 80K. I work less than 40 hours a week and am based out of my home. Yes, my friend, it is possible to make decent money and not have to bust your ass for the "first couple of years" to enjoy your life and schmooze with other ERAC low lifes.

Enjoy your little shack on the beach. Hurricane season is coming up :)

Ok..you make a $150K...so you are not an Area Manager unless you are lying. If you only make $150K as Regional Rental Manager, then you are performing terribly and probably will be out of a job once your grace period is over. Enterprise can't lay anybody off, because too many people quit. I am not a disgruntled employee, but you can not say that ERAC does not treat it's employees like shit. Let's see: Bottom level pay for time on job and education level required, no time off because you can't use it for a variety of reasons that don't need to be repeated, bogus promotions on #'s that "fit" the person they want to put in the position, etc.

Since you are such a success and indeed knowledgeable, then spit out the Kool-aid for a minute and get real. Look around you..how many people that you came through the "system" with are still around? Not many, if any at all. 8 years and not a peer in site that got lucky like you. ERAC does not offer the opportunity it once had. If you are such a big shooter at ERAC, then my advice to you would be to find a way to change the culture of your company/region to retain good employees. The talent pool that ERAC brings in now is garbage. Noone wants to work for a rental car company out of school. Our society is all about image these days. You think these Gen-Y'ers want to tell momma and poppa or their friends that they work for ERAC after getting a degree. Get real. Your company is bringing in less talented people more and more and the brand name is being tarnished with every passing day.

One more side note to make you sleep easy at night. When you do get laid off from Enterprise because you couldn't "hack it", you will never make the money that you do now. Zero sales skills, unless you call retail sales, and no true specialized talents, and I am sure you don't know much about computers. You should see this thing, ....it's called "Windows", check it out.
Thought I would start my reply out nice and finish like an ass just like you.
