After that, I will be promoted to Accounting Manager position, and finally, I will be moved up to Business Manager Position.
What she said kind of sounded too good to be true, and I decided to do a little research, and came across this site. I read almost all of the posts.

My question:
Is this a different position than most of you dissatisfied and unhappy folks had, or is it just another way to sell their-so called- worthless crap???

I would appreciate the feedback!
Yes, most of what you read is Rental, but I have an inside look into the Accounting dept. What they are feeding you is BS. I know some people who worked in accounting in the Washington D.C area. Many of them left their position, because the upward mobility wasn't there. Every Group is divided into Regions, every Region an Area and so on. All the accounting is done at the Group or Regional level. I am not certain how it is setup in the Group level, but I would assume similar to the Regional. Anyway, the D.C region I worked in had 1 Comptroller and 2 Business Managers. The only way you can get to these positions is if one of these people leave or die - provided you made it to Accounting Manager. Usually, in each region (at least in D.C) there are 1-2 Accounting Managers and you can only reach this position provided they leave or die, and so on. So mainly You, like all the other accountants only reach Financial Statement Analyst - provided they want to promote and give you a pay raise for doing the same work as a Staff Accountant. Sure there maybe opportunities to proceed up the latter within the other Regions in the Group or maybe even the Group or other Groups and their Regions, but be prepared for long commutes or potentially moving if this happens. Many of the people I know who went to accounting, or started right off in accounting eventually left, because they - after they completed their training - remained Staff Accountants, and because the same political culture existed in Accounting as it did in Rental. I even know a girl who left accounting to join rental, because she was hoping it would be better! Boy did she get a rude awakening!!

I believe you are correct Admin....the previous post sounds like another recruiter or biz mgr writing in to be the "voice of reason." Do not buy the crap. Again, "our door is always open" policy still applies to admin and especially accounting. It is a revolving door and they come...and they go.....they come....and they go. DO NOT DO IT. Go to a real company who respects their employees.Erac is not that firm. Its sad...you get the feedback here and still you question whether the people are telling the truth. To steal a quote from the movie Lost Boys,"How can a billion Chinese be wrong Michael..?"

I have seen plenty of accountants actually go to rental as well in the hopes of getting promoted. The promotions are not there which is on reason turnover at the entry level accounting position is right in line with the rest of ERAC.
When I went to interview for the spot the told me the base was 28K plus I would get overtime. This crappy base was one of the reason I stayed in rental. ERAC does not quote salary they quote what average people make. So if 35k with a shit load of unpaid overtime seems what you are looking for take the position.

Hey fatboy, when you are in the courtroom in the case v Enterprise Rent-A-Car about their unethical accounting practices...Come back to us. Otherwise STFU with your misleading and BS posts. I know you are still upset, no wife, no kids, living in a trailor with your laptop, and are currently travelling around the nation in a Hertz car, but geez..

Let me put it to this way, This area of the business you will love. WHy?
This site is dedicated to the rental side of ERAC which you deal head on with fatheaded people like failingadmin. The area you are heading into is more focused on the backend of the business. A lot of people in rental wish they were heading in that position you are in. You are insulated from the customers and work much better hours. You keep your suit clean, never wash cars, work in an office, get to talk and mingle with the corporate heads such as Regional vice president and regional rental manager. You also get to mingle with all the foxy ladies in the corporate office. All the hot chicks are at the corporate office since the big wigs want them to be near them. You will make good money as long as you stick with it and not listen to shitheads as many of these monkeys who complain here.

Accounting position, you will make 75-100kplus in 6 years.
Goodluck buddy

From what I understand the story as you describe it above was what this gentleman claimed after the fact...after his release. I don't know all the details of that suit though.

Read this opinion from the Missouri Court of Appeals Eastern District:

Are you still claiming this is a "misleading and BS post"? You are spewing insults and are wrong at the top of your lungs.

Oh, and by the way, if you're going to try to insult someone by claiming they live in a "trailor", learn how to spell it properly.

Hello, Shitforbrains.

There aren't any trailers in San Francisco.

Admin has to be shelling out the $$$ to live there. This is probably not difficult for him, since he DOES'T work for ERAC.

Oh well, it is me again. I had my interview with ERAC's finance department. And it was the toughest interview I had ever been through. They asked me so many detailed questions… but anyway.
I turned down the position, and instead, I accepted an accountant position with a huge casino and resort. I figured at this casino and resort, there is so much money coming in and out, and I would learn a lot more about real accounting and finance. Pay is a little less than what ERAC was offering, (but with ERAC there is no limit to my overtime with the same annual salary, but with this casino if I work overtime I get paid time and a half for it.) The bottom line is I made my decision and I hope I won’t regret it.
I would appreciate the feedback.
