By the way, the only way to survive with a site like this is to hire a really good Internet and Intellectual Property lawyer and stay out of trouble. There are so many ways to screw this up, with libel, slander, defamation, trademark violations, threats, extortions, etc. It's a minefield, I tell you.

It used to be the only way to enjoy the free press was if if you owned the press; now the only barrier is navigating the legalities.

I'm not a lawyer, but I think all you're worried about is libel because it's all written. slander is spoken. Okay and maybe a case or two of actual malice.

they could get around that by stating it in the form on an opinion instead of a statement and making sure it's expressed without ill intent.

although proof of a previous bad reputation also mitigates your damages. good luck.
