Default Current BM

I've worked for ERAC for 2.5 years. It's not an easy job, I won't lie. I have a different take then most money hungry frat boys that try the job and fail b/c mommy and daddy have taken care of them thier whole life.

You have to work hard to succeed and I do. And I do. After nine months my pay jumped from 28,000 to 52,000 a year. I now make close to 70,000/year as a BM. Name another company where your pay increases this % in a little over 2 years.

My take is this, people leave their managers, not ERAC. If you have a good manager that runs the business and doesn't let it run him/her then you will enjoy your job. My MTs each "flex" (leave early) 1 to 2 times a week, and they only work every third Saturday. They average around 46-48 hours a week and they perform quite well. One is getting ready to grill.

So get to a branch where a MANAGER is running it, not a salesman and you will enjoy your job.

I'll write again as an GRM making 350,000 to let you guys know what kind of car I just bought.

Thanks and good day,

It's A Decent Job so Quit Crying

You had me up until the "decent job, quit crying" statement. Honestly, you sound like a pretty good manager that seems to take care of the people. However, it's not a decent job. Some people may like it, countless others do not. I applaud you for your position and for the job well-done in managing your people and not letting the job run their lives. However, if this is true, you definitely don't speak for the majority.

I couldn't agree more on your "frat-boy" metaphor, in fact your entire first paragraph hits close to home in some of my experience at ERAC. But I had some great managers that didn't fit into this. There are so many people that work for this company that have some false sense of entitlement, that everyone owes them something...you probe to get to know them and find out they've had a lifetime of mommy and daddy floating expenses for them. Oh yeah, and mommy and daddy are still helping with their expenses. Kills me.

Agreed on people leave their managers, even more reason for upper management to promote people on leadership quality, not just sales figures. I know they say they base on 4 core areas of business, but leadership and teamwork should be more heavily weighted in management promotions. just my thoughts.

I call bullshit. I made 70K in Los Angeles as a manager w/4years put into the company, it took hard work, not some 2 year fluke like this guy. I dont know where most of you that are reading this are from, but in a REAL metropolitan city...70K in 2 years IS NOT NORMAL. Guaranteed/Regular Flex time for your people or for yourself IS NOT NORMAL. 46-48 hours/week IS NOT NORMAL.

Dont get me wrong, all of these things are possible in the boonies or the backwoods somewhere but not in a real city. Dont believe the bullshit.

Its these flukes that spread the great ERAC dream and spend their time trying to convince all of their people to not quit because of their personal success story. But what they dont tell you are the percentage of others that has done the same thing. 2%, 5%? Those arent odds that a sane person would be willing to bet on.

Keep living the dream brother, and congratulations on your success. Just keep it real as to how many people REALLY get through the system the same way you did.

To be honest they never should have been paying you 28,000 in the first place. Most of my graduate friends started at 50,000 straight out of college and then recieved incremental payrises as they go....so all you are doing is catching up!

Oh and also please dont tell us about "what car you bought"....it makes you sound like a total loser when you act like a child......................................."my daddys bigger than yours" is not the way to get people to take you seriously!

most of your college buddies made 50k right away? That's really good since the national average is in the mid 30's......you must live in the northeast where a dollar isn't worth as much.......or maybe you went to an Ivy League school.

You are so wrong its a crap job thats pays crap. Like hell do you work less than 50 hours, if so you are not maximising your business. In the U.K your wages work out around
£35,000 a year for what in reality is a 60-70 hour a week job, that is rubbish !!!!!!!
