Take the time you need to find another job. Also, take every opportunity to rent to that customer who has the job you want. Networking with your customers who have "real" jobs will set you free...

That's how I found my current job.

One of the few benefits of working the airport was the days off in the middle of the week to interview....

This is exactly why I quit renting from Enterprise. The branch I rented from had loser college grads like you who were mad at their employer and the world because they had no where to go with their current company. A little advice - - Don't take it out on your customers - afterall, "Customer Service is a way of life." So I suggest you suck up your pride, get a resume together, wash a few cars in the meantime and make the best of what you have until you find something better. Good luck.

As a former assistant manager in N.C., I can tell you that Enterprise is excellant experience for new grads. After about a year of Enterprise you should be able to handle anything that comes your way. If you can make it to a level 2 position then land a gravy admin job you'll be doing ok. But everyone on here is right, the rental branch just plain sucks; 55 hours/wk, 30-35k per year = 11/12 bucks per hour for a suit wearing college grad, unbelievable stress levels, especially for something like renting cars, always worrying about your numbers(personal and branch), and having kiss everyone's ass who walks through the doors. If you take a job with them it'll take $400-500 in suit pants and white shirts and ties to get started though. I don't miss those days at all.
