Also true...had my resume up on a couple career sites...and within 3 days I had the area mgr and my branch mgr call me into a meeting and told me to go home (Fri 10am) and to "think if I wanted a career here" (unpaid, I would later find out...there goes my overtime that week...and paycheck)...since i had no job lined up, I came back and said I was gonna make a go at it.

Three weeks later, I had a job lined up and walked in and gave them my 2 weeks....I worked 3 more days...it was glorious

Well, I think any company would frown if they knew their employees were seeking other employment. However, I don't think they should tell you to go home to "think" about your career at ERAC.

However, many times I was told by Area managers and RRMs on how they were always listening to offers, entertaining them but always stayed with ERAC because you have so much more opportunity than anywhere else. If that was the case, this company should never care if you are looking at other companies because you will always come back to ERAC.

In reality, it's hard to leave because there is no time to search for a new job. You start work before they open and you are still working when they close.

Very true. Although Enterprise is the only company I've heard of (and personally experienced) that actively looks for it's employees resumes on sites like monster and careerbuilder. While I was an Assistant Manager I had a meeting with my ARM and RRM regarding this and they let out that HR and recruiting cross reference current employees to find out who "isn't completely committed to their career".

The other difference between ERAC and other companies is that other companies will make the effort to understand why you are looking for another position, and if they value you as an employee, will try their best to keep you. That usually means matching another salary offer, increased responsibility within your current position, etc. Enterprise doesn't use that philosophy because when it comes down to it, all they can offer is "opportunity". If you get an offer from another company and go to Enterprise and say, "X company is offering me $45,000/year, 2 weeks paid vacation and a 40 hour work week, what can you do for me to make me stay?", all you'll get in response is "if you stay and if you sell and if the right people quit at the right time, you might be able to make $40K. But remember if you just stick it out, 6 figures will come within 6 years!" They don't try to match offers because they can't. No matter how hard they sell you, a half assed opportunity to make 6 figures will never stand up to the reality of an actual, liveable salary, normal hours and a respectable career.

All of you whiney crybabys can't hack ERAC. There's so much opportunity and all you care about is your own bottom line. This is a great company to work for and a company where the best people work so quit if you don't meet this criteria.

Good bye.

Chazz, I want to extend a "no offense taken" to your apology, which will come within the year. Once you realize the dream you've been sold and swallowed like an ignorant fool, you may come back here. I dont want to think you arent wanted.

So upfront, you are forgiven! We'll be waiting here for you when you realize the horsecrap you've been eating for a year or so...you'll wake up one day and say "wow, I make $7 to wash cars with my college degree and work 60 hrs a week...why are all my college friends so much more happy and have more disposable income than I do?"

Until then, spout your E-crap all over this site at all of us "losers who couldnt hack it" I promise, we will embrace you like a prodigal son someday.

Until then, examine your life and make sure you arent some frat guy who is happy to have a job. When you grow up...come back and drop us a line

Sincerely, Everyone Who Has Been In Your Shoes and Knows Better Now...aka...the disgruntled ex E-chimps
