But that part about the used car salesman is the clincher. There is alot of money to be made in ERAC- but you have to love the industry.

There's alot of money in alot of industries. This one DOES have alot of "excited, smiling, used car salesman." But it works as well for them as the "recent college grad" image. It's just that those two don't blend well together, they just need to make a choice. So as soon as they get that all figured out... we may see some improvements! Come on HR I know you can figure that one out! I'm rooting for you!

ERAC isn't that bad- it's just that it's not for everyone. They tend to go a little over board on trying to get you to sign over your life to them because- you can make millions. But there are many ways to make millions. This industry is as unique as any other. Enterprise is a good start regardless.
I will agree with you on 2 points. enterprise is a good start, you just cant get stuck there for too long. And no one doubts that you can make 56K at ERAC, you absolutely can. The question is what price do you pay to make it in this company.

Where I strongly disagree with you is that it IS that bad. How many hours of slave labor do you have to pour in to be successful. Dont get me wrong, there is no easy way to be successful at anything you do. But theres a lot better ways to make a dollar than working at ERAC. It would be pointless for me to rattle off the HUNDREDS of things wrong with ERAC, we all know.

Also, I dont know where you work (possibly admin). You definitely cant be in the trenches in rental if you are talking about 9-6 (or you are a lazy ass branch manager).

Out.

I would advise trying to mend relations with your current boss and stay with your current career. Or continue to search until you find an avenue that best fitss you and your desired compensation. But Enterprise, based on the information you provide to us, would indeed be a waste of your time, as it was for 2 1/2 years of mine.
What area do you work in?? Our assistant managers make 55,000 and have an average of 2 years with the company. Maybe you should consider moving to California.

How many hours do your assistants work? How many days a week?
Do they clean cars in their suits? Do they put up with numerous shitty demanding customers while they are running at 99%? etc...etc...etc...

Maybe you should consider getting a real job...and a life.

Making 55K sounds like a decent amount of money except that in California you can't friggin afford to live anywhere decent on that amount. Pull your head out.

All lazy people with poor work ethic bitch about everything. You have to earn a six figure income. It is a great company that promotes from within and only those who possess leadership and the abiltyt to drive performance! Try us out, i made 56k when I was an assistant Manager. I have been with the company 7 years I am about to interview for a regional manager position!! Enterprise rules!!!
Ughhhhh yes work hard and you will get the money he is making....Ok i don't think we care that you are a minority....Unless it has something to do with you making the 125k +. Do you agree that people are over worked? under paid starting out at erac. Ok you make 100 plus a year....what time do you get home at night? Or better yet what time do your employees get home everyday?

Agreed. Try paying rent, school loans, cc's, and utilities in L.A. on 55K. It makes ERAC seem more appealing because they pay for beer and appetizers after work....Sad.

Sack up, Mr Big Paycheck and tell the masses what group/region you are in. We would all like to know where the money is. If you were a true green bleeder you'd have no problem letting us know who and where you are.

Enterprise rules??? You sound like a child.

This guy forgot to mention what he had to sacrifice:

1. the last years of his 20s
2. lost all contact with his real friends and family (if he had any)
3. lost his social life to ERAC parties discussing the fascinating world of renting cars.
4. had to settle for the few used up, beer-bellied sluts of ERAC because there is no time to go on dates.
5. lost touch with the real world because he works 70 hours a week
6. probably has a portrait of Andy Taylor at his house to pray to because he is so brainwashed
7. his health, attending all the fried food events and no time to go to the gym.
8. the list goes on, feel free to join in...

By the way, with any legitimate sales job you will make over a 100k in the 2nd or 3rd year. Plus you only work 40 hours a week! So, is ERAC worth it? HELL NO!!
