Default Away from Enterprise and Finally Free

This message is directed to anyone who currently works for Enterprise or is thinking of working for Enterprise. There is so much I can say that I don't even know where to begin. I guess you could say I started with the company in that brainwashed state thinking Enterprise is a great company to work for and that this was a good opportunity. I graduated from school a couple of months before I got hired in and I thought to myself, 50-52 hours a week is not bad. Now looking back on it the only thing I can think is only a crazy person actually thinks that a "50-52" hour work week is normal. I probably remained in that brainwashed state of Enterprise thanks to all the happy hours and "events" for the first year. Then it slowly came to me that this was not reality. Dealing with management double standards, the whole "good things happen when we listen to one another" joke, and customers screaming in your face because you don't have the minivan rez they booked on netrez 1 hour before they came in the weekend before 4th of July was enough. Anyone who works for the company knows what I mean by double standards. But for those who don't here are some examples: "50-52 hour work week", we don't rent an suv to anyone under 25, especially employees, but we will make an exception for a customer if they complain, etc., etc. For those who have examples feel free to add on. Then when you actually realize that the company sucks and try to find another job you become miserable. Not to mention the stress level and pure exaustion you feel from dealing with the same bs everyday. My exit interview was an even bigger joke. I was unable to get my point across because my HR manager had to state their point on everything I had to say, which makes me wonder: The point of an exit interview is to get feedback on turnover so the company can improve itself, is it not? I have since left the company and I actually have a real job, making more money than what I was making, without the stress level, and working on average 10-15 less hours per week. Life after Enterprise is better than ever. My advise to those who are still there: get out while you can. The grass is greaner (no punt intended) on the other side and your life will be much better after you leave. To those who are thinking about working for Enterprise: DON'T DO IT. It will be the worst mistake you have ever made. There are other positions out there with other companies who will be happy to have you and will not treat you as an expendable employee. Happy hunting!!!

Oh, and by the way, for all of those who may disagree with my thread, I would just like to say, Enteprise is a joke company to many other companies. For example, at my new position when I told someone I used to work for Enterprise they laughed and made jokes about it, quoting "that company is a joke". This is coming from hearing stories of many, many friends who worked for the company and left soon after getting hired in. So just is case you are wondering, Enterprise is not regarded as a great company to work for by outside sources.

I totally agree with you! I have NEVER put Enterprise on my resume, nor have I even mentioned it to any of my friends, for that matter. I am totally embarrassed that I ever worked for that lame-assed company. Instead I put that I had worked for a temp agency during that time. It looks better on my resume. Seriously.
