Default I'd just like to say thank you

I had an interview with Enterprise this past Thursday. The deal sounded pretty good. The HR lady talked about me making 32.5k per year and seemed to want to discuss promotional opportunities as well. But the thing that got me thinking was when she asked me if working 50 hours per week was ok. And she also said that there was paid overtime and bonuses and such. So I thought I'd make much more than 32.5k per year, which i was pretty excited about.
Until I found this website telling me that they pay hourly and a salary like 32.5 is attainable only after working 55+ hour weeks. What a joke. And after reading all of the stories about customers and happy hours, I had no other choice but to just not show up at my interview. No call, no "no thanks but I'm going to pass". I just didn't show up. I felt it was the least I could do to do my part in the decline of this tyrrany.

You will not be missed. You are just one of the many that Erac is not looking for. They are grateful to have not hired and trained you, since you would have just quit anyway. You did them a favor by not becoming employed in the first place. You have done nothing the impact them....nothing.

I disagree. As a former BM, I had brand new MTs that showed up to the branch for their first day, but never returned. Each time it happened it made me, my co-workers and some in management feel awkward, for 2 primary reasons: 1) It validated our deep down feeling, one that we tried to suppress but kept surfacing, that Enterprise is a grim, horrible place to work and 2) It made us regret not having the same pride and self-respect to have done the same...

you are absolutely right... afterall you NEED that branch morale sometimes just to get you through the day. When I was a wee little MT, a girl on her 1st week took off right after lunch one day and that was the last we saw of her.

Good for you. You just avoided one of the worst mistakes you could ever make.

Wow walk out after the first day? I've never seen that. The quickest I've ever personally seen someone quit is two weeks. Your right about the supressed feeling. It's like admiting ERAC is a horrible place to work for is like an alcoholic admitting he has a problem. I always knew ERAC was shitty place to work for but I never really wanted to admit it because I invested so much time and effort into it. But the quicker you realize it and move on the better.

That is exactly my point, for Erac it is better to have you not ever work there than to have walked out after one day. You did them a favor, and for them, there are plenty of other fish in the sea. Goodbye recruit #122,348 and hello to the next recruit. Erac did suck to work for, but having people who were not bought int working for you made it even worse. I would rather have run short-staffed and had a team of people that were dedicated to the job than some whiny shit who complained about having to work an extra 15 minutes.

My point, to your original email, is that there is an impact to ERAC - the employees; whether it is an immediate impact or delayed, it is real.

Would you stop quoting movies and/or your branch manager. What makes ERAC tick is not it's employees, it's the system. Just like in College Football. You put in any quarterback at Florida and they'll succeed because of the system. Same with ERAC. You put any person as an MT and they will perform because of false promises. As soon as those promises fail, then that person leaves ERAC and the next recruit is ready to close in on those promises he/she thinks is going to happen. ERAC employees are not that special, trust me. I've never seen such a sorority in the business world, it just amuzes me! Yeah, having ERAC on your resume helps because other business know that you had to put up with a lot of bullshit with that job. Nobody really respects ERAC, but they respect the people that keep following false promise after false promise. They know that you can be somewhat brainwashed with their company and see that you are easily manipulated. That's the reason! Not that you're so good!!! Give it up and quit living in fantasy land, you're just another ERACian that is following false promises.
