MT's in our group just got a $2000/year raise ($.75/hour) which makes it a bit better, but yeah, it's tough at first. In halifax where I live, it's tough to find a decent apartment within acceptable distance from the branch, and we're talkin like 600/month for a single apt..yeah...i know the feeling.

BUT! Stick with it, you'll get the money...I'm up ~5k from hire date (1.5 yrs ago), and we OP'd nice this summer...$$$! :D

I can't knock the pay. Sure the first year was poverty wages but after that I made good money. It's like you say though 60hrs a week and working conditions just weren't worth the pay.

Work-Life Balance sums it up and that doesn't exist at this company at all.

Its not here and there, its all the time, hence working conditions aren't the best.

Plus for me, work wasn't challenging.
