| I had my first interview with ERAC about two weeks ago. Recruiter: Have you sent resumes to other companies Me: Yes Recruiter: How many? Me: I don't know. Upwards of 30 (as any other graduate) Recruiter: What types of companies. Me: Advertising agencies, Marketing firms, etc. Recruiter: Which ones EXACTLY? Me: I'd rather keep that information confidential. Long story short..... You guessed it. I wasn't invited back for a 2nd interview. I'm guessing they like the kids who think they are impressing them and say "Noone ma'am/sir, I want ERAC to be my life. I'm putting all of my eggs in ERAC." I can see the first couple questions, but why did they want me to list SPECIFIC companies (that weren't related to the renting world)????? During the interview, I realized I wasn't going to sell myself out to a crooked organization like ERAC. i figured I wasn't going to be asked back because I didn't do a bullshit song and dance. ***If you need a job bad enough... go to the interview and sell yourself out. (I got a job the following day:) ) |

| they asked you to find either similarities or non-similarities. which means you are looking at similar career paths or if you say 3 totally different type of companies by specific name. Then they see somenone who does not kow what they want. There is a method to their madness. remember erac is smart not stupid so you sold yourself out you probably did not know what you want so they made the right decision. |

Don't let them bother you. They probably thought you were too smart for their mind games. You're much better off without the ERAC weasels. The turnover rate at ERAC is so high, they are falling over themselves finding replacements. Good going for you outsmarting them by sending out 30 resumes and getting a job the next day. I'm sure you found an occupation worthy of your schooling. Good luck-over and out |

I told them I was interested in PR/Ad agencies and a few marketing firms. Shouldn't that have proven I know what I want? Nice try of making it seem as if I didn't know "what I want...". It seems to me that I laid it out pretty simply what I wanted... PR/Ads and marketing. I don't know why naming 10 seperate firms in the same industry would show similarities and non. Nice effort of trying to make me sound like an idiot. You very much so proved it. :) |

I was a marketing major in college, and in the interview process, I asked what my career path would be to really take advantage of my degree. They said that there are marketing plans developed on the local level, and that there is a national marketing team in corporate that I would be eligible for after some time and success with the company. Little did I know that "local marketing" was delivering fucking donuts and getting service managers drunk and taking them to strip clubs. As far as corporate national marketing, its like a team of 10 or some ridiculous number. And less than .0001% of the company ever makes it to work in St Louis. Dont be bitter that they passed on you, you arent missing anything. |

Yeah, because ERAC is the only company in America that pays over 40K a year. What a douchebag, you are the last person any one with a real job would be jealous of. |
