| i glanced at this site briefly before flying out to las vegas for 3 interviews (after already having a full out hour long interview w/ one of the pgh recruiters of 9 years in the company), but I didn't give the experiences discussed in the forums much credibility. well, I wasn't hired (im glad now that i've seen from this site why erac is a bad idea). I plan on moving to las vegas, and asked if I could be interviewed locally because I really didn't want to spend all the $ to fly out there when, theoretically, the local recruiter should be able make a decision after an 1hr & 1/2 interview whether i was right for the company. I interviewed with the local recruiter, did a good job answering and posing questions etc and was basically left in the dark for 3 weeks until i randomly get call inviting me to come to vegas for an interview. (first hint that ERAC was sketchy) so, me really wanting to have a job lined up before I move, decided that I'd fly out there, across the country, and impress them w/ that dedication and with some good interviewing (they said they'd help w/ a discount on the rental car I was going to rent through them). the weird thing that I don't understand is that: 1) they made me go through 4 interviews and basically asked me the exact same questions every time, just w/ a person of higher rank each interview. 2) I DOMINATED the interviews, put smiles on their faces, professed a great appreciation for values that the company talks about in their mission statement, basically made myself sound pretty damn compatible with the work environment...or so I thought. i met w/ the vegas recruiter, then a local brand manager and area manager and, finally, with the group rental manager for vegas. however, I never was "invited to lunch" or anything like you guys spoke of, which seems odd. I basically outdid myself in every interview and, if anything, appeared over-qualified for the MT position. at the last interview w/ the group rental manager, he asked how long i'd be in town and said that they'd get back to me before I left so I could make arrangements as far renting an apartment was concerned. they called 3 days after I returned, and basically said they decided to go w/ another candidate. I was baffled and just said ok. a day later I emailed the vegas recruiter, politely asking for the general difference b/t myself and the "successful candidate" (who prolly sucked a dick) so I could learn from my mistakes... but my email was ignored.... an explanation was the least they could have done... they gave me a whoping %10 off my rental car fee....which was like $20 off a $300 bill for 5 days... cheap bastards should be able to cover the rental car cost, at the very least. so yea, what's up w/ making you jump through all those hoops? from a business standpoint, it's grossly inefficient and wastes time. 4 interviews for a freaking $11/hr trainee job?!?! maybe if I was applying to be a district or regional manager.... let this be a heads up for those of you thinking about interviewing with enterprise. any company that creates such a parade of hype and "critical acclaim" for their award-winning entry level, opportunity of your lifetime position....has something to hide. pay attention to the signs that the opportunity is too good to be true. | just to let you know james. you were not put through hoops. every person you interviewed with takes a stake in your career and if you don't work out it affects their retention rate. i agree however you should have not paid for the rental but you have to interview with local people based off the territory they work in is different from the one your local recruiter is in. they look for long term people even though they know 50% don't make it past a year. contradictory i agree, however i believe 100% you were tring to latch on to a job not a career just to move out there and when your were comfortable with an apratment you would start looking for another job in 3 months and would be gone by 6. you were a big risk and that is why they did not take you. |

| More proof that ERAC isn't hurting for new employees. It didn't work out man. If you flew in to interview with another company would they have paid for a rental car? Why should Enterprise. In a month come back here like the rest and tell us how you are now making 6 figures and have a company car and a hot secretary at some really incredible company that is much more impressive to your friends and family than Enterprise ever would have been. |
