Default Find out the Truth about the life of an ERAC employee (out of the horse's mouth)!!

PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING WORKING FOR ERAC. BEWARE AND ENJOY!!

The best email went around in our group from an employee who decided not to "see the big picture" and is as follows:

"This message pertains to my career and I am sorry:
I am sorry that I work for this company and expect to be paid. I can't believe that I won't work for free. I am sorry that I take 23 deposits a month to the bank instead of 24, and that my deposit days are 1.63 instead of 1.5. I'm sorry that I get here at 7:30 and leave at 7. I'm sorry that I have no life. I'm sorry that I spend all day with my employees, but somehow I don't spend enough time training. I am sorry that I don't have enough time to work the run and my bad debt is out of control. I'm sorry that I have two satellites and I am the only one here half the day. Somehow I am expected to work the run, do callbacks, and get LOFRs done and re-write 30 day tickets. I am sorry that I can't do these things well enough for my boss and his boss. I'm sorry that I have weeds growing around my office, and I hire a yard man, I am sorry that his pay comes out of our OP. I'm sorry that I won't come in and do yard work on Sundays in order to not pay a yard man. I'm sorry that I am unorganized. I'm sorry that I didn't respond to your 30 stupid messages that weren't sent to me about nothing important. I'm sorry that I haven't had a day off in two years, and wanted to take one off. I am sorry that we don't want to work on Labor Day or Christmas Day, because ERAC is more important than your family and me being happy. I'm sorry that I laughed. I am sorry I went to lunch. I won't let it happen again. I am sorry that Mr. Customer dropped in Texas so we charged him a drop fee and then you make me refund him. I am so stupid, what was I thinking to actually have a backbone. Obviously, no one else has on that works for this company. I heard that Wal-mart has backbones on sale this week, maybe we could all go buy some. I am sorry that my ESQI was high but not high enough, or my OP was good, but not great. I can't believe my fleet growth was only decent. I am sorry for not being balance in the four core areas. I am sorry that I work for this company and only get 200 miles per day, when I rent, and Mr. Customer can have unlimited for 9.99 because Mr. Customer called Nat-res and they gave him this rate. I am sorry for all the things that I have done and will continue to do. I am sorry I go out at night when I should be at work doing callbacks and waking up people at 3 in the morning. I'm sorry, Sir, that the economy car you reserved is here and you are mad about the small car, even though you wanted a large SUV, here's my boss' number, call him and tell him I am sorry that I actually did my job, and now you'll get something for free. I'm sorry that it's sunny or rainy. I'm sorry you got in a wreck. I am sorry that you were actually charged. I am sorry that I can't do anything right, and nothing up to the standards of those that have gone before me. I am sorry that I work for a company that treats their employees SO GREAT, and I can't see it. I am sorry for wanting to have a life, wanting to use the bathroom, and take a break. I am sorry that I didn't go marketing, and that HLE is in town, it's all my fault. I am sorry that I am sorry."

. . . and that's it. pretty interesting, huh? I can tell you from personal experience, that this is an accurate portrait of life at ERAC; and I mean LIFE, because you won't have one outside of the green walls. If this is for you, by all means, continue on with your interviews. My best wishes to all and I hope this was helpful.

Great post, too bad you didn't post this early in 2002 when I made the mistake of going to work for ERAC. I have since became smart and pursued a new career, I hope that you find something better in due time.

It almost sounded like a suicide note.

It sounds like anyone who made it past an MA's position.
I'm sorry that I know exactly what he is talking about.
