Default Starting Pay

Hey Guys-

I just went in for the first interview with ERAC in the New York region. They told me I would start off at 30K with the chance to make 32K in the first year provided I passed the Skills Test and the MQI. The recruiter told me that the lowest I would possibly make would be 30k in the first year out. Is that true? I have seen some pretty low starting salaries on this site, but I am not sure if that is because of the region some of you guys might be in. I have a friend who works in the Hartford region in CT and he loves ERAC, so I thought it would be a good job right out of college. I know I want to get into sales, but I don't have too much training or experience. Any unbiased help you guys could give would be great. Thanks so much.

THROW THE YEARLY SALARY FIGURE OUT OF IT

YOU GET PAID 9.18-9.88 PER HOUR

WITH TIME AND A HALF FOR OVERTIME OVER 40 HOURS

If u work 50 hours a week you will make 26K a year

CALCULATE THE SALARY THAT WAY.

THERE IS NO BASE SALARY ITS A FUCKING ERAC LIE.

A "salary" means you receive that pay regardless of the hours you work. Trying taking a day off and see what your pay it.

Or take a "choice day" which only gives you 9 hours of pay when you typically work 10 to 10.5 on any given day.

Well, in Group 36 they tell you the same thing, but it was a lie. The salary they quoted me included the numbers I would get if I sold a car, referred an employee, and made top performer. It was pretty unscrupulous. Maybe your group is different though.

After taxes at loss control I made about 20k a year after taking the skills test. The MTs made less.

I had to take a second job at Banana Republic just to make ends meet.

Its' a lie, to get you to commit.

At most, you will make 26-27K (BEFORE TAXES)

After taxes, look at around 19-20K, for over 60 hours a week at work.

I too had to take a second job, delivering pizzas on weekends and a few weeknights, just to get the rent paid.

If you take this job, you will regret it, and people here will be PISSED that you let them do that to you. Your best bet is to look the recruiter in the eye and tell them to take their moron job and shove it.

Get it in writing before you accept the job. The hours and the pay NEVER work out regardless of where you work. You end of losing out because you will never work what they say you will.

I went through 30 day training with a guy who'd previously been a salesman on the road. Dunno why he left that job. He asked the recruiter (Paula Lushene and/or Carrie Carter I believe was his recruiter, 53EE) up front if he would be able to make extra hours above the quoted salary hours of 55 so he could support his family of 3 kids I think? Long story short, they told him he could but he was unable to get near the amount he needed. He ended up quitting in the middle of the 30 day training class down in Charlotte; basically just got up during class, walked out, and was never seen again. That was a big red flag for me about the company and I didn't make it a few more months before I was out the door myself.
