I recently graduated college with a degree in finance and have been looking for an entry level position hopefully leading to a career for about 2 months now. I submitted an online application to Enterprise for thier MT postition only because someone told me their starting salary was 30k. Other than the pay, I really had no interest working there or even considered working there. A few days later I got their pre-screening phone call. I wasn't expecting all the questions they asked, it was basically a surprise interview, but I thought I told them everything they wanted to hear except for my lack of sales and cs experience and the fact that I had taken a part-time job working for my city. Yesterday I received their rejection letter and stressed about it all day. I found this site browsing yahoo answers trying to find some solace and feel much better now. The long hours, menial duties, and stated pay that can only be met by reaching incentives and quotas as mentioned here makes me happy they rejected me. Thanks Failing Enterprise!

Are you kidding me!! Your right about the long hours, etc. but that fact that you didn't even make it to a live interview is pretty sad. Say what you want to make yourself feel better but I would love to know what you said to them to not get an interview? They interview everyone with a college degree as long as you have a pulse!

Q1. Tell me about your educational background. ANS. Graduated 2006 with a BBA in finance with a GPA around 3.5, participated in club and organization activities that related to my field, before that I received an associates in business administration. Q2. Are you currently employed? ANS. I just recently accepted a position working part-time for the city hall. Q3. But you're still interested in working for Enterprise? ANS. Yes Q4. This is primarily a sales and customer service position, is that something you would be interested in? ANS. Yes (Shaking my head no while I answer) Q5. Do you have any customer service experience? ANS. No retail or food service experience but I did work 6 months for the county elections office as a clerk greeting the general public and responding to their inquiries for information. Q6. Do you have any sales experience? ANS. No Q7. How would you assist Enterprise customers? ANS. I would do my best to provide answers to any questions that they had, help them choose the best option that is right for them, and resolve any concerns or conflicts to the best of my abilities. Q8. Where do you see yourself in the future? ANS. I would eventually like to start my own business but before that I would really like to gain valuable experience in a business setting and make a significant contribution to that company Q9. What type of work environment would you prefer? ANS. I would like to work in a team environment, team atmosphere where I could learn from coworkers as well as assist them when possible. There were a few more but these were the ones I most remember. I would love to know what you guys were asked and how you responded. |

in all honesty i saw smart people get turned down from erac without a live interview. it is not the case that you can not do the job, it is the simple fact that you are to smart and they know you will not stay. not that anybody does, however certain people are better candidates to be brainwashed and you were not in that category. you should be stoked that you did not get an interview. i worked there 3 1/2 years don't fucking waste another moments thought on it. move to hoboken, nj and get a job on wall street or get a job with a financial company. cisco sytems, merril lynch etc.... get your series 7 and forget about erac.

Great answers to all of your interview questions. Two reasons as to why you MAY have been rejected for employment though. First off, you said that you had a 3.5 GPA and were very actively involved in extracurricular activities. This here is a red flag to them, your outstanding academic achievements combined with your desire to be involved tells Enterprise that you are independent and will likely not be willing to be brainwashed and forced to think in a certain way. Second of all, you told them flat out that you are looking to gain valuable business experience so that someday you will own your own business. Enterprise is more interested in someone who may become part of the "cult" and have every intention to remain committed to Enterprise only (no outside involvement with any clubs, organizations, or jobs). But in all honesty, you are better off using your talents in a more legitimate career path. You seem too ambitious for what Enterprise has to offer. Best of luck.

Dear Dissed by Enterprise, Don't worry about being rejected by ERAC. I worked for them for a couple of years when I got out of college and I still regret it. First, when I worked there, they attempted to avoid paying overtime by alleging that all their employees were in management. They got sued and had to agree to overtime pay for employees with one caveat. The more hours you worked, the less the hourly rate was. This was "affectionately" called Chinese overtime. Second, do you like washing cars? You'd have plenty of that. It's horrible having to wear a stupid tie in a freaking hot summer day and having the vacuum suck up your tie while you clean the inside of a car. Do you like selling collision and damage waivers? That's the only ticket to promotions there. You know that you are selling something to people that they in 90% of all cases don't need. One time I had to collect $500.00 from a lady because we sold her the damage waiver and she rented the car for a month. I felt really bad... Do you like working 12 hours or more per day? I used to get up at 5 AM every day to be there at 7 AM and I would never leave until it was 7 or 8 PM. Do you like being yelled at by angry customers? Boy, you'd see that every single freaking day, over and over again. Do you like repossessing vehicles? I did it and it's damn scary. You can get shot! Do you like a company where racists rule? I was told many times that black employees were not allowed to climb the corporate ladder. I asked why and was told that that is just the way business is conducted there. I'm not black but I'm nevertheless offended by this. I could go on and on but I think you get the point.
