Default Recruiting Young Employees

Most jobs will hire anyone who is qualified, young or old. Anyone who starts a career at ERAC is definately in their 20s...unless they are a driver or car washer. Has anyone had an MT come in older than 30?

This should tell you they like to grab you when you havn't been around the workforce world and don't know a good job from a bad one. Anyone over 30 would most likely think this job is terrible and a waste of a degree. ERAC puts more effort into hiring recent college grads than any other company out there, they like to get them young, burn them up until their either sick of the job or completely brianwashed and fully invested into the company.

They also know young employees in their 20's don't have a lot of money saved up or have student loans to pay, so it would be harder for them to quit the job and search for other work. And working them 10+ hrs a day without internet access is even more assurance that they will not quit.

I had one job interview when I was at ERAC...and they found out about it. I did not have a resume posted online, the only person that knew of my interview was the company conducting it and they did not contact ERAC. The next day I was hounded by my AM because their performace is greatly based on employee retention.

If the job was as good as they claimed it to be, they would not have to recruit like crazy, keep assuring you that it is a good job and you will make a lot of money and that when you are thinking of quitting, do anything to kep you.

Had a guy in new hire orientation with me who was like 35, I think. He left in the middle of 60 day training. Just walked out of class because he got in an argument with the trainer. Thought he went back to the hotel to study but he went home. Crazy stuff.

I started as an MT at 43....yes the young puss made it attractive and the hours and work were no problem for me. I enjoyed all my coworkers who respected me.

I HATED the management, they were all this self-appreciating guru kool aid Jim Jones Peoples Temple cultish attitudes.

Scary really.

Although when you are older, you honestly have a "I dont give a shit" attitude. I argued and fought with asshole customers all the time. Cussed them out for being who they were. Most of my fellow employees sat there with jaws dropped. And I think thats what got me fired.

I've met people with MBA degrees over 30 working as MTs! What a waste of real education.

hey, this is off subject but I just got the job at Enterprise and was wondering, when you're done with the 4 day class do they usually place you at the same branch that you visited during the interview process for your first location? I hope not b/c those people did everything they could to make me feel uncomfortable, everything they told me was untrue and I couldn't tell when they were being sarcastic or assholes. Also what should I expect in training? Are the tests hard, do they call on you in class and expect you to know the answer, what do you learn? Also what the hell is a ticket? what are they referring to? Please tell me everything I should expect. I am socially anxious and so nervous right now. I start in under a week. I know you say it sucks to work there but right now this is my only option. Please please please give me answers. How long do they keep you the first day in training? Thanks guys!

A ticket is a contract you will type up endlessly!! This is job is plain old retail like working at a high end store. You get to be all dressed up, except you don't get the respect as do the high end sales people.

Training's easy, they're very nice to you because they don't want you to quit. You may or may not work at the same office, will probably be somewhere near your home. I actually trained at an office a couple hundred miles away, so got put up in a hotel in Lauderdale on the ocean for a week. Didn't have time to study because I was getting hammered at the hotel bar every night. Come to think of it, it was all downhill after that. To quote a line from Amityville Horror that would apply to your situation, "GET OUT!"
