I'm currently a car salesman and I work long hours. I've been thinking about changing jobs. Are the hours less here? Is the job at Enterprise worse than a car salesman? How early do you go in an how late do you leave? Whats the pros and cons of the job.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Don't jump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-advancement opps galore -money can be good -good sales experience cons: -advancement takes moving and doesn't always equal more $$$ -most people don't stick around enough to make good $$$ -personally i don't think the experience is all that |

I would stick with the car sales job or try to find another job OTHER than Enterprise if you don't want to do car sales. ERAC will make promise after promise but will never come through on 90% of them. There is room for advancement if you like to kiss your bosses ass. Out of all of the MT's hired in a year, maybe 5% will be successful in this company. If you do get promoted, sometimes you get a pay CUT!! One of my good friends who started with ERAC about 2 years before I did was an assistant manager at Bush Airport in Houston. He got promoted to a branch manager spot and got paid LESS money. What kind of promotion is that?? Then throw on all of the bullshit you have to deal with on a daily basis. It just isn't worth it. I left a month ago and I don't dread getting up to go to work, I'm getting more sleep, and the quality of my life has improved dramaticaly.

I don't think a lot of these people realize what it is like to be a car salesman. I am familiar with both. It is at the very least as bad as a MT at ERAC. Your hours can be ridiculous (9:00pm-10:00pm at night, 6 days a week) and most of time you pretty much only get paid if you sell a car, no car sale this month, no paycheck! Your splitting hairs with these 2 jobs, they both really suck.

I'm an MT and sometimes work in an ERAC cubicle at one of the dealerships in my city. I am always there about an hour before the car sales guys and usually leave after they do. I think the car salesman hours are 8-5 at this particular dealership but can vary some days. My average day is 7:15 AM to 6:15 PM minus an hour for lunch if I'm lucky. I work between 50 and 57 hours a week depending on whether I take lunches and/or work Saturday. Saturdays are typically 8:45 AM-12:15 PM. My life is terrible, and I know some of you might even have it worse than me. edit: needed to get my times right
