Very Good, and I agree with all of your statements. I am a newly promoted Manager and I am seeing alot of what is mentioned above. To me I think its more about controling the branch not the branch controling you and that is what I am trying to install in my fellow employees and managers. This year at Orlando they talked alot about the balance between both work and personal. So I think the company is heading in the right direction but now is just the transition. And the pay situation is common with all companies. Either your going to the top fast or your going to be stuck.
Great post and it is nice to hear from someone who has moved on and says the positive things.

Thanks and good luck. I have no ill toward the Green... I have my best friends and my wife's best friends from this experience, not to mention the killer job experience. If I can touch a little on Orlando, I hope for success in finding the "work-life" balance. If perception is reality, then the level 3s and above asked us to manage our employees with work-life balance in mind, but fail to treat their managers the same way. I almost got into a smackdown with three ARM's and an RVP over this topic this year... This poor guy in my breakout felt similarly. I had trouble staffing a 7 day operation as did he. He always put himself last on the food chain, same as me. And our upper management did not provide the flexibility that we were asked (and giving) to our staff. I wish there were a better answer for everything. I guess that's why the pow-wow's in Orlando.

Come on now, I know you have been posting long enough to know to check your facts before you speak. If they purchased all of their vehicles cash and each vehicle averages 17500/cost every 3 years (typical time it takes to completely roll through a fleet, that would be about 12.25 billion dollars. That is more than they make in one year. Do you really think that Andy would allow that. The groups borrow from corporate at a high rate and corporate borrows from the bank at slightly above prime. Notice how they jack the rate to the groups. That is nice of them. FYI Prime is 6% now and expected to rise.

SAD.
What is really sad is your responses. You cannot even retort the comments I sling at you. So much for ERACers being able to think on their feet. I am sure you are pondering a strong comeback rather than attacking my spelling. At least I hope so.

As for your name, a WARRIOR is someone who has a backbone, courage, and integrity, all of which Enterprise does not allow. So please change your name to accurately describe yourself.

Hey "GUNIT" maybe you didn't get promoted because they don't want Thugs running their business. Ever think of that? G-Dog

I don't remember ever seeing THAT many cars at 17,500. We had a lot of ahem... manufacturer discount lower priced vehicles with the occasional 20K'er and that was at a mid to high line branch. BTW: I know I'm being a little evasive w/ numbers but corporate got a $4 payraise this fiscal.

That sounds pretty low, but it depends on where you are. My first year w2 said 26k, but I was there for 6 years and peaked out at 45k at a downtown location before leaving for a 20k pay increase/38hr week job. Have you tried to work out what you make per hour based on your annual pay? Get the guns out of your house before doing this... Suggestion: nut-up, get your resume done, and send it to as many recruiters as you can.

Ah what a fantastic post this has become. I find it hilarious that so many disgruntled people are unhappy about other people making a decent paycheck. Just received mine in the post this morning and its great, another whopper!! At current ex rates I am making $83880 as a BM and still manage to fit in a few rounds of golf. This kind of money is attainable and yes I am am an old school eracer and have been around the block a bit but so what the job is not difficult..... Anyway good luck everyone in achieving your goals and your paychecks I am off to work on my short game with my new wedges.......
