Life is about having connections and getting lucky - being at the right place at the right time. Fate is something you can't control. Some people do "all the right things" and get nowhere, and others don't do anything, and don't deserve anything, but have everything. It all depends on your definition of nothing and everything. I gave up trying to control every part or my life, because I know I can't. Hindsight is 20-20. If you're living your life right, you should have no regrets. Obviously, if I'd known ahead of time, that a descision I made would come back to hurt me, I wouldn't have made it. We can only go by what information we had at the time we made the initial decision. Being a Christian helps me rationalize what I just can't rationalize. Too many people get frustrated by mistakes that they need to learn from, and others are fighting with what to do, instead of following their spirit and doing what they were meant to do.

Sounds like you need to go through these experiences to get you to where you are going. I don't think anyone ever knows what they're going to do when they "grow up".
