Always use worst case scenarios, but talk about them like they are common occurences. Also, make up a phony story about yourself and how dub saved your ass. And, cherry pick your customers. Hispanics and blacks are easier marks, white males over 40 are tougher to convince. White soccer moms are difficult to sell to as well. Good luck e-chimp!

hahahahahaha .. I liked that ... lol lol ... but it is actually true ... cuz ah ... within 6 months of my hire last year - EVERYONE who worked there is since gone - even the guy I secretly called the "erac Pope" who bled the greenest green and greener ditched it all for greener pastures .. no pun intended .... lol lol ...

Yes all true. I worked for ERAC for 4 years and sold quite well (90-110 points), but I never was able to sell to a teacher or police officer (so when the cop comes into rent, say away!).

I've got the new slogan for ERAC.

Pick Enterprise...We turn 'em and burn 'em!

Depends on the location and type of customer:

Insurance customer: Talk to customer at counter on how annoying the experience has been so far and throw "saves you from dealing with insurance company crap"

Dealership: Short term rental, hype up the car they have - they will either say its an awesome car, or a shitty car. "all my customers from x dealership take the basic cov, your car is only being serviced for a day and this will make sure you dont have to have increased premiums on an expensive car like you have" or flip side "increased premiums based on this newer car since yours isnt that new".

Retail: "dont worry about the car while you're on your trip, someone bangs it up while you're not there, we pay for it instead of you."

corporate usually has coverage included so you can't say much.

Don't stress too much, just reach out to people in your area that have good stats and copy them without changing it at first, then make it your own over time. As much erac hate goes around here, I do have to admit I'm a MUCH better salesman in all aspects of my life now (picking up girls is also sales work), as well as dealing with people throwing pitches at me. Whether you stay at ERAC or not, try to increase your sales abilities as best you can.

And as other said, shut up after you make your statement and let them decide for themselves. If you push, you kill it on your own.
