Default Higher starting pay?

So when you go in and they make you an offer for the MT program, is there any way to bargain to get your salary more than $28,000 your first year? That is low as crap, and only an idiot would take a job with that low of pay! I wouldnt start for anything less than at least $35,000.

There is no negotiated salary. Actually there is no salary per se. The $28,000 figure is based on working 50 hours per week. The overtime amount brings the total near $28K.

You know when you just get out of college, have little to no experience, no money at all, bills you have to pay, and the job market isn't really that great. Erac looks pretty good even at $28,000. Well $30,000 for the regaion I worked in.

Ha!! $28K would have been nice my first yr. That was the "sell", but that included having 1 employee hired, 5 cars sold, numerous (read:phantom) branch contests, skills test, and the grill in your first yr. Reality: about $26k with 7 cars sold and working 55-60hrs a week!!! Our region had maybe 3-4 people in the entire 3yrs that I was there that were allowed to grill in their first yr.

An ERAC associate makes less than most jobs out there. 28K? Who can live and support a family with that? I was once an ERAC drone and I can tell you, money only goes to the upper management folks, not the MT, MA, BM. It's a joke. The upside to our dreary economy is that it will improve. The baby boomers are retiring in the next few years and large, more profitable, companies will be looking for employees and will be willing to pay more for top candidates.

Negotiate is not a word you use when you're a "team player!"

Everyone starts off exactly the same, salary wise. It's up to the green powers that be to decide how far you go.

Be nice to our northern neighbors. We could learn a lot from them.
