Ditto with the gym. It was nearly impossible to make it routine. Especially with some nights having to stay late to pick up straggling customer, run cars between branches, happy hours, E-vents, etc.

My avg ERAC day was:
Wake-up
Work 12 hours
Go to bar, gym, catch a couple TV shows
Go home and sleep

What a pathetic life, but pretty much sums up everyone’s life at ERAC. NO LIFE!

I can give you names and GPBR's if you'd like, but I think they've been through enough embarrassment already without being humiliated on FailingEnterprise.

it's not a bad job for a few months to a year...anything longer than that though is waste of valuable time.
the longer you stay at erac getting "promoted" the further behind you will be when you finally leave ERAC.
I left ERAC at the age of 28 after managing two different locations...while i was successful at erac, that did not carry over into the outside world.
while i was changing peoples lives and renting them aveos, my peers were making real money and learning a real trade/career. a bit tough to catch up when all you have is renting cars on your resume.
don't do what i did, don't stay past the age of 23-25.
and please don't buy into the fodder of "running your own business"
you most certainly are not...everything you do is dictated from above.
from the rates you charge, to the clothes you wear, to the phone greeting, to your operating hours...everything is micromanaged.
give it 5 yrs, like i did, and you will most likely find yourself as a overworked and haggard BM making $38-65k with little free time outside of renting cars.
don't make the mistake i did
Dude, this just is not true. All of my friends who have left the company are doing VERY well for themselves. And, it was their experience at Enterprise that got them there. (they will admit it as well) Recruiters are always looking for the enterprise experience on a resume. Just because you couldn't sell your erac experience for your next job, don't dawg it. Many people will tell you the same. ITo the person who's been offered a job with erac, give it a chance. It can be a win win situation for you, or you could wind up like some of the bitter people here, who went on to get a great job after their exp. at ERAC.. especially for a psych. major....or any liberal arts major...

if you wanna stay in sales or retail then erac is awesome on a resume
for those that don't, and don't have a technical degree, most of the time more education is required.
at least it was for me...i hate sales and want nothing to do with it.
disagree if you want to, but the ERAC experience is not as cool as you may think on a resume...maybe it used to be, but not now.

Yes, the recruitment process was a little ambiguous since I had to ask for the details of the salary, benefits, hours etc. rather than coming in and being given a sheet of paper with it all broken down like most places do it. Yes, the hours of the store do not match up with the hours they say I will be working since most branches open at 7:30AM and close at 6:00PM. I would imagine we would have to be in at 7:00 AM at the latest to prepare for the day and wouldn't get out until at least 6:30PM most likely. Therefore, the hours would be more like 11.5 hours a day at 57.5 hours a week excluding the three hours they are open on Saturdays. It seems to be more like 60 hours a week when one really breaks it down. Therefore, the 32K is based on working 60 hour weeks not 50 hour weeks with promotions included? Yes, that is not good considering my girlfriend got a job offer with an accountancy firm doing auditing for 54K a year plus a 3K signing bonus and other bonuses throughout the year. She will be making minimum 57K right out of school. I will graduate with above a 3.7 GPA but with a degree in psychology, so I'm a bit more limited than she is. It just doesn't seem fair...

Let me just tell you this... when it comes to finding out how much you will make. it's not going to add up. You can do the math, attempt to figure out their equations, but it still wont make sense. On a two week check you will make about $950-$1k

No, it never will work out. I think I was pulling about $850 every 2 weeks after all the deductions.

About the gym, let me just say ha ha ha. Much like you, I had been a workout machine before I took the job at enterprise. I was very proud of my physique and used to spend about 2 hours 5 days a week in the gym. Well, you can forget your physique once you get to ERAC. In the year of my employment with them, I managed to gain 50 lbs. and went from a 32" waist to a 36" waist. Because of the hours, you are going to find it very hard to get into the gym. It is difficult to get a good one in after you spend 10-12 hours in the office. Since you are going to have very little disposable income, fast food is going to make up a major portion of your meals. In fact, 99 cent double cheeseburgers from McD's and Burger King are going to become lifesavers for a poor MT. Also, the BM is going to bring in crap like Krispy Kreme for breakfast and Papa John's for lunch, because it is often going to be too busy to take a lunch break for people in the branch. After work, you are going to be expected to go to happy hours. That means lots of booze and a lot of appetizers like Nachos and fried mushroom tops to help prevent DUI's. Even when you don't have scheduled happy hours, you are going to feel compelled to go drink with your fellow MT's and MA's. What can I say, misery loves company. Take a good look at the branch employees when you go to interview there. All the skinny or fit people are going to be MT's or MA's. By the time somebody becomes an AM, they look like crap.

I have a 27-28 inch waist and work out six days a week between cardio and weights. I am known for being in great shape all the time. I eat healthy, don't drink (Unless it is wine. I hate beer.), and can't remember the last time I had BK or McDonald's burger. Maybe I wouldn't fit in there after all...

I went thru the recruitment process for a MT, and did just as they said "gave them a year" and everything you read on this site that is negative is so true. In the beginning at my branch I worked unbelieveable hours b/c our Manager was such a jerk and would constantly take off in the middle of the day or just never come in-we had a busy branch and he left the assistant and I scramble around and deal w/the stress every day. I got my lunches but never any breaks-and the flex time they promise so you can have a day off is a joke b/c you actually never get to decide when that is-since its a customer service job of course you can only be off when the customers don't need you (and that is never!!!) Not to mention forget having a holiday off or any decent vaction time. Customers first!!! Blah Blah Blah. And it is a jukey job-everything you do is dishonest in some form or another and you do have to do what it takes to get your numbers so you can hope to be promoted and see the promise of a better life. The only thing I really liked about Enterprise were my co-workers I'm still friends w/most all of them. And the dress for success gift cards, however in the end if you quit like i did they are suppose to take whatever amount may be left on the giftcard that hasn't been paid yet and deduct it from your last check(s). They didn't and now 4 months later they are sending me letters saying I owe them $360.00 what a load of bull****. And if you are ever given the option or it is mentioned that you could be promoted to the airport-run as fast as possible the other way b/c that is just plain horseshit you will be worked into the ground and no one gives a shit about you there it is only about the numbers and competition is literally cut-throat!!!!!!!!!!! My last rant about enterprise is in all their dishonesty I left the company b/c it wasn't right for me. And everything seemed alright they acted like they understood and hoped I would find what was right. Now come March when I get my taxes done I come to find out that in my whole year of working w/Enterprise they never withheld my taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I get left paying the bill (which of course $3 grand later I do not have!!) So in all my attempts to figure out what the hell happened they say I chose to do it that way on my W-2, my fault. Now that is complete crap!!!!!!!!! Thanks Enterprise for the absolute worst year of my life and taking the cake in being the worst employer I have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude... maybe you should just back out of the deal now... I mean, you are letting complete strangers dictate how you should feel about this job even before you've worked the first day.

Grow a pair and go to work. If you like it, great. Stay. If you don't like it, great. Leave. Either way, determine for yourself if this is something that you want to do or not.

Some people on this board hate Enterprise.. some love it. I doubt you can get an honest assessment from either.
