I dont want to get into a long debate about this, but i said "many" are likely to motivated by a personal hatred/bad experiences. As i said previously, im gonna give it a chance see what i personally make of it, and continue to seek employment. At best i will advance and enjoy my time there ( i never planned on being there for more than 3 years, even before i saw this site). Or at worst i will hate it from day one, but i can stick it out until i find a better job, whilst earning £'s and gaining c.v. experience! As far as im concerned it is win win for me...

its better than having no job..that is true...but its hardly a good way to choose a career! also who qualified you to state that "many" people hate erac because of their own personal failings..have you met them...NO! Have you met 1 of them...no? Then that is why you were called small minded!

There are some very bitter people on this board. If you would have read my comments im hardly choosing a career in a random way. Enterprise looked like a very good option, on paper, it appears that this will not necessarily be the case in practice. How i chose a career after that has not been mentioned, only that i wll use the experience at enterprise to enhance my c.v.
| |||
thats the point though.Its marketed as a career and a good job...all you learn is how to wash cars and write rental tickets.Hardly going to help you land a great job in the future!

or there could be a bunch of complete muppets in cardiff... Renting cars hardly attracts the best students.Usually the dregs with no hope of getting a real job.1 in 40 people got the job in my area...yet all my friends got offerd jobs.I told them not to take it.ERAC does not hire idiots....doesnt make you the best of the best though....makes you the best of the LOSERS!

Each person who has a bad experience or opinion on ERAC has a right to their opinion, but they too made that first decision to work for erac to begin with why? because it is a great opportunity. and it is definitely NOT cut out for everyone. but if you feel this is the right career for you, and i do mean career not job, than go ahead , at your own risk, but dont say you werent warned

Please, I worked for ERAC in near Cambridgeshire in the late Ninties,when the UK expansion was in its second stage. You do not want to work for this firm. They are your best friend and worst enemy at the same time. They promote from the stepford wives club model, "Yes Sir", "No Sir", and "I'll wash the car with spit sir because we didn't pay the water bill." No pun intended! The company is a pyramid scheme; meaning what they tell you is true for 1% of the company. Andrew Taylor is a homo at least in mannerisms if not by deed. They even email talking points to explain why they have such a high attrition rate. I got several when I was with them as a BCM. You need to get a clue. Don't promise anything, put your money where your mouth is. Read the Great Brain By John Fitzgerald. Great kids book and us adults can learn how not to be swindled from it. By the way, most of the board are cokeheads. I had dinner with Greg Hubbard (I hope I got his name right) and he was snorting and hyper all night and number three at the company when I left. Save your life. I have made more money and opportunity when I left their carni asses behind. Good Luck. They will "shag" you too, lol.

The ole firm simply depends on a revolving door of fresh meat to satisfy staffing needs, without hiring the proper number of employees. It works like this: hire just enough newbies, take advantage of their naivity and eagerness in order to convince them that working 50-60 hours per week is the way to chase that dream position up the ladder, and thus keep staff numbers to a minimum. If said newbies wake up, smell the coffee, and leave for greener pastures 6 months to a year later, then, oh well, just hire a bunch more, since there is always a giant queue at the HR door. The theory, which is proven through practice, is that, by and large, those with the right shiftiness will stick it out to management and those who think for themselves will just disappear. Hey, every company does it. The biggest problem is that this system lets the shit rise and the ole firm becomes one big self-congratulating machine that rarely ever questions what it does. Without thoughtful internal criticism, the company will eventually fail. Think I'm wrong, take a look at the history of every major world company. The pattern is there.
