Default Canada-Vancouver

I am applying for the MT position at Vancouver, Canada. Then I found this site, which appalled me.

For those of you who work for the Canada Enterprise, could you tell me sth about the work conditions in Canada? Is it different from what is happening in the US?

The ad on job bank HRDC states Canadian$30,000-35,000 annually for 50 hours weekly work. Are they lying? will they ask me to work for like 60 hours once i sign the contract?

thanks a lot

You have the possibility to make 31 maybe, you are paid hourly, not salary.
50 Hour work week is a load of BS, you work 7-6 in most branches with a lunch break IF YOU ARE LUCKY, and then 4-5 hours on Saturday.

The conditions in Canada are identical to the U.S., you will work longer than 50 hours most weeks and you will grow to hate yourself and everyone around you in this position. I spent 3 1/2 years in a Canadian group, 2 1/2 as a Branch Manager. If you have any other options for the love of all that's good please use them.

I am also thinking about going in for my 1st interview with ERAC. I thought that it would be a good plan, safe regular hours, decent wages. I am glad I read this website before. I am still planning on going to my first interview, just to see how it is in Vancouver. I am graduating in July. So I am looking for fulltime work starting Sept. 1.

So Enterprise is no good? What are these so called benefits that they offer you. And how long are you expected to be a trainee? And what do you think you start off getting paid. 11 an hour is dog shit. No recent grad will take that money. You get paid 20/hr patroling the parks in vancouver. . . thikn i might do that.

Any reccomendations for recent grads in Vancouver?

Plz take this job offer for 1 week then realize how shitty the job is and watch all the MGMT tell u how ur a shining star and will become a BM in 1 year and double ur salary. BLAH BLAH BLAH.... honestly work 1 week and if u don't end up telling everyone @ ERAC to suck a fat one or FAWK OFF then maybe u shud stick around.... ....... LOL

work hours? it all depends where and which branch you work at...don't go to C42. I've seen a lot of MT's come and go. Also gone thru several managers, all who have left for another job outside ERAC.
PAY IS NOT GREAT... CSR make $10.50/hour MT 12/hour i think..not worth it for all the work they ask you to do.

want to see ERAC exploit? go to
any C4 ppl

Good lordie. Are you furking kidding me? My advice for recent grads in Vancouver is the job market is hot, find a proper job and stay away from this company unless you want to work 60 hours a week making 11CAD an hour and wash cars in a suit.

The HR staff will give you the sales pitch and sell you the dream. Please don't fall for it

Don't do it. Cult, Cult, Cult. Don't sign your life away. The market is way to hot to settle for the Rental Car Industry. This business is fickle. You can get on with a real corporate 9-5 job. Do it while you can. Stay away from erac and the others.
