its not that i totally hate being a teller. i have just never been one to stay at a position too long without being like, "okay now what?" I like to see advancement all the time, and being in a bank its structured so flat it seems like advancing is almost never happens. Crap there's been people doing jobs on twice as high as me for almost ten years.....Its pretty bad. this just seems like something that can at least be a stepping stone if nothing else. you know get in do the two years and get out. plus i work at a retail store and have already delt with unruley customers that don't give a crap about you already. hell I had one spit in my face one day. if Enterprise customers can dish out more than that, i might give them a freaking medal.

listen man...read the stories...they are about 90% true. There is a website dedicated to ex-employees who have gone on to become successful in something else (ok, not all...some are incompetant) and look back to their days at ERAC with a horror. There is a reason. I, for one, will never work harder for less money than I did at Enterprise. I hated it every single day for 18 months...without exception. Its been over a year since I quit, and I still enjoy my Sundays a little more knowing I dont have to wash cars and lie to customers the next day. There's your recommendation, don't do it. Now, as for what to do...that's your choice... If not...good luck finding something (anything) better If you do take it...see you back here in 3 months with your stories :)

All this website sounds like is people who are affraid to work hard to get a little experience. my friends think i am crazy for just having two jobs so this has got to be a cake walk. maybe i am wrong but you have to work hard to get anywhere in life and to be successfull and just like flipping burgers, that got you a paycheck so you could go do crap when your in high school. this gets you places too. second, has anyone really tried getting a job out of college with little or no conections. its damn near impossible. I have been out for almost a freakin year, i am prior military, and i have been working my butt off trying to find anything...monster, careerbuilder, usajobs, career fairs, etc..... and nothing has came my way yet. it sucks and this looks like its better than doing a job i am doing now which is also one i could have done right after high school....i just dont want my 5 years in the service plus college (and working full time) to go to freaking waste... I have busted my butt for 10 years now since high school and crap hasn't happened, so unlike many i am going to make it happen and quit bitchin about it not happening. i mean how much harder could it be then the last 10 years.

You're perfect for ERAC, and ERAC is perfect for you. We have a lifer here folks..... Don't say you weren't warned. And PS, please don't come back on this site in a month and tell us how much you love ERAC and how we're all just "angry" people who "couldn't hack it". We've heard all the lines before. I come on here to warn semi-intelligent people why this could be the worst decision of your life. I don't argue with the dumb ones, I just tell them they're perfect for the company....get it BTW, I worked a plethora of jobs prior to ERAC and a couple after ERAC, and none have left such a bad taste in my mouth as this company. It's your choice. |

First, I am not trying to have anyone convince me of taking the job. i just wanted some real reasons. not "oh its just the worse" type stuff. And I am not completely sold on the whole issue and trust me when i say i am above avg. intelligence. that's why exact reasons where of importance. not that its hard. Jesus man, if I didn't do the things in my life that were hard I would have ended up in jail and no degree. life is hard, work is hard. its called a freaking job for a reason not fun. But if no one can tell me exact reasons why its hard then just the typical, "you have to work hard for too many hours." look at construction workers, they bust their asses off. if this is a dead end job the give me reasons. One thing i am realizing is that this company can be used just like it uses it workers. crap i used the military (college money), just like the army used me. you can use enterprise for a stepping stone. if you cant then tell me. that's why i joined this site. but if your reason is 1. too long of hours. 2. too little pay 3. shitty customers don't tell me. because first i already have those now. second, every entry level job has those things. that's why they're entry level, because they suck. no matter what you do, you have to prove yourself. unless you come from some big time university with some great degree or you have great contacts. REMEMBER I AM NOT SOLD ON IT, SO LIFER IS NOT THE CASE. i just like to make very educated decisions.

in my experience as a branch manager i had 3 marines work for me and they were all terrible employees, lazy, could not think for themselves, no street smarts, no charisma, could not have fun.. the place is all about immaturity and screwing around. you my friend are 29. i was 28 when i left and i am now a pharma rep. if your 29 a college grad have military experience and are working 2 jobs and looking at erac now. can i ask why? erac is for someone right out of school. i was 24 when i started and interviewed for an area mgr spot in 3.75 years. i figured it out that the area mgr position is not what it once was and i wasted 2 years. i should have left in 2 years and i could have started my pharma rep job earlier. i make 58k car, cell, laptop and 25k bonus ..83k a year and work like 35 hours a week. the job is cake compared to an area mgr or any position at erac for that matter. if your at the bank try and get a financial specialist job. if you go the route of erac plan 1-2 years and kiss everything else in your life goodbye during that time. you should be able to get a better job after those 2 years so if you have a mindset like that go for it but sound unstable and misguided in your thinking. i had no connections when i started and still found something. here is nickels worth of advice go to a recruitment agency pay them 1,000 or whatever they charge and get a job that pays 50 plus. the money spent to pay a recruiter if your worried about connections is well worth being underpaid the entire time at erac. the money would be worth it. pay for your connection. withj your credentials you are worth then what your doing and erac. unless your a moron you would take that job now....

oh by the way you sound exactly like these 3 marines that worked for me. wake up idiot and look at the the webpage's address and the million or so posts on here. wake up, you think your going to good advice on starting a career with erac when 95% of people here are ex employees and can't stomach the company after working there!!!! all i can say to you is good freaking luck!!
