Re: Info on GP17 I used to be an employee of a group right next to gp17 and I currently have two friends in gp17. I just discovered this forum by accident and after reading through all the info I have decided that it is imperative that I join in and speak my mind. First, you have to understand how Enterprise works, and then you have to ask yourself if you are up for it. Enterprise is like the Army, you give it 4 years and they give you a career. The only problem is you are not getting shot at with bullets, but with customer's complaints and constant logistical and staffing problems. If you bust your ass, play the game, and make a name for yourself, you can make huge bucks @ Erac, easily 6 figures within 6 or 7 years, often sooner. But you have to be good with people and not afraid to put up with a lot of stress. If you work at enterprise for a year, you can do anything. If you go interview for another job, you will rock it. You will be unstoppable, because you will know that you can calmly handle a room full of people wanting minivans without any minivans. That is why enterprise does not just hire any idiot of the street. They are extremely selective because you need to have what it takes. It is not the right job for many people. But, for a good amount of people, they thrive on it, and they sometimes get a little lucky, and find themselves in an area manager position making 80 grand at 26...sounds pretty good to me. As for group 17, i can't say, but regardless of what group you work in, you have to be ready to work, and interact with people every minute you are at work, which usually entails 12 hours with no time for lunch. Sorry that didn't really answer your specific question, but hopefully it gave you a little insight. I am a big fan of enterprise, and a pretty big critic, but that's the way it is. you take it for what it is. Kind of like that friend everyone has who is kind of annoying that nobody else likes. You take that person for what they are and you can either accept it or you can't. I don't know where I am going with this, sorry about that. |
