| I received a call from the recruiter yesterday for an interview today. She advised me to do my research of the company, be prepared for the interview, and to wear a suit. Being told this didn't impress me as those are all basic interview guidelines. I researched the company site for a few hours last night - lots of information. However I had my doubts because the more I read the more it sounded like and "info-mercial". I then did my Wikipedia research for a more "neutral" overview. The first thing I notice on the Wikipedia site is that they are requesting the information be rewritten because it sounds like an advertisement. And that it does. However, the information appeare to be credible up to the point that I read about this site and the language suddenly turned to near slander. So, off to this site I went to find out what all the fuss was about. Oh my. I'm very glad that I did. I don't believe I've ever seen such a site about any company before. Some posts seem very sincere, others downright slapstick comedy. Overall though it has been enough to make me cancel my interview. This was NOT a simple decision. I've recently relocated and seemingly into a VERY tight job market. I'm at a low point in job hunting and really need the money, but I will not exchange the possibility for a nice career/personal life balance for what I've learned on this site. I wouldn't dare think about washing a car in one of my suits. Back to "stage one" I go in the job hunting...but thank you all again. Now I have to figure out a way to tell my spouse... |

| if it's between you starving and ERAC, take erac. it's not the worst thing that could happen, if anything at least it's a paycheck for a few months...just understand it will suck and keep on the lookout. very few people i know can say they regret their time at erac...though they all would never go back, the experience helped them in some way. kinda like basic training in the army sucks, so does erac...but it serves it's purpose. and i updated the wiki section on failing enterprise, can't let misinformation spread |

Bad advice on her part. Just about any reasonable Google search will bring you here, at which point you're cancelling the appointment. The last thing Enterprise should be telling job candidates is to do research on the Internet. __________________ "Don't worry about what anybody else is going to do. Reply With Quote Don't worry about telling your spouse...umm....maybe she should have alook at this site. If you value your marriage and life with her.....you are MUCH better off. Look at some of the threads that talk about "the lifestyle" of working for erac. It has put a serious strain on my marriage....and there are countless stories on here about the lack of respect for your life outside of the company....involving significant others in the social aspects of the job...countless broken marriages and infidelities at happy hour hook ups and weekend trips on the company tab. PLEASE DO NOT FEEL BADLY ABOUT THIS....YOU HAVE BEEN SPARED. When a door closes a window is opened....THERE IS SOMETHING MUCH BETTER OUT THERE FOR YOU BELIEVE ME! |
