What is this "Grill" that is often spoken of?

It is slang for the test that gets you promoted from Management Trainee to Management Assistant. The real name is MQI, or Management Qualification Interview.

It consists of 2 parts normally.
The first part is a written/oral test given by different departments (Loss Control, remarketing, call backs, corp accts, etc.).
The second part is a role playing portion with usualy 2 Area Managers. They go through supposedly normal situations that come up in rental to see how you think on your feet. It is called "the Grill" because they rake you over the coals. I've seen girls come out crying, and guys comong out thinking they are lower than crap. However, it seems that anyone that gets to that 2nd part will pass unless they do something crazy like break down and cuss out the area managers.
