How did you get to be a branch manager in less than 2 years? It took me almost four? And you only make 50k? Something isn't right here. Whatever, I bet U have a 22 car satellite office with a car prep and an 80 year old man driver.

Chin up soldier how are you going to handle it when you are thrown into the firefight of a 164 car downtown office?

One would think, I should be happy.

This freakin' sucks. I've gotten three people promoted in the last three months and have only gotten one employee to replace them. My ARM says, "Your personnel expense is low. You should be estatic." I'm exhausted. What am I doing?

The realization is that for any normal, logical person the life cycle of a successful ERAC career is 2 years. You've gotten all the training you need to launch your career. Leave. Get out. Enterprise is a LIFE, not a job.
At least you have come to the correct realization.

4 years for BM! Wow that would suck. I can't imagine waiting that long for BM.
I made it to Area Manager in just 3 years. Started in 1995. (BM in 11 months)
Our group was very small and were short people so I kind of got thrown right into the fire. Not sure if that was good or bad.
I left though b/c I never made more than $85,000 and actually started to make less than prior years. Ended up lasting 7 1/2 years at ERAC. Took my fat fully vested profit sharing and split.

Watch the E-tards vacuuming, washing, doing the walk-around, it's great. Do it on a nice hot July day and it's that much more gratifying.
I still do this. It is gratifying indeed.

I love driving by the E lots after work or especially on a Saturday. You can see the drones and some of them thinking it's great and they don't wear a tie for a Saturday shift. Nice quiet weekend this weekend but the next two weekends I'll be heading to my place in NH at the lake and then to a big ole beach party at the Cape with some friends. Be leaving Friday night and on saturday while Branch$$$ is getting yelled at because the cargo van smells like cheese I'll be a six pack deep. Get that cheese smell out Branch$$$ or else esqi will go down and they will be moving you on out.

We were running a 180 car branch with three people... DOWNTOWN. And when I say three I mean THREE. No drivers, no car preps, THREE EMPLOYEES. Not only that but the biggest paycheck at the branch was around $60k/yr. Considering we were pulling in over $1k/car in profit I find that outrageous. But of course there were piles of bad debt because we were too swamped to ever do callbacks or even properly check in cars. When we brought this up to the ARM his reply "Keep booking deals! We'll make it happen!" After three months I demanded to be transferred. Three months after (after having almost the exact same thing happen at my next branch) I told them "see ya!"

Sounds like fun, especially in the summer. E-chimps really do get their brains scrambled thinking that hunting for cars 12 hours a day, week after week, is a good time.

1. I worked my butt off and performed. 2. I make only 55K because I've only been with the company 2 years. I haven't had a chance to build my payplan. 3. I work in a firefight. I have a 150 car office.

Anymore questions? Seriously, why don't you tell us if you really work for the company or be truthful about your position. Obviously, you don't know how payplans work.

if this guy is really in tune with payplans and how they work he would know that even though you may get a bump in % the seocond year, you can actually make less money which what they try o do so you leave and the next guy can come in and work for less until they figure it out and then he quits. and the cycle keeps rolling on.............
