Weekend Update time. Time for Goofus to get his panties in a wad and come back with some witty retort. Well, it's going to be a scorcher this weekend, temps in the 90's tomorrow. While Goofus and Branch$$$ are sweating in their white shirts with yellow pits and ties with frayed ends from the vaccum I'll be kicking back at the beach, playing a little football and frisbee and just hanging out. Then, come noon, Branch$$$ and Goofus will be sitting in the office with the lights off waiting for that one last customer to return/pick up who called 20 minutes ago and said he was right around the corner, At that time I may head over to a bar to grab a burger and a beer. About an hour later I will be finishing my burger and beer and Goofus and Branch$$$ will be cleaning cars for Monday or picking up drops. Of course now they can act all cool and take off the tie and even roll up their sleeves or go real crazy and take off that white shirt to reveal the crusty yellow pitted undershirt. And they will talk about how great life is as they vaccum dog hair out of the back seat in a car that smells like ass because it was sitting in the sun all day. Around 2 they will call it a day, print up the rezs for Monday and see they have 18 right at 8 with 14 pickups and 4 deliveries and it is only them two plus an 85 year old driver who takes an hour to go two blocks and an intern who hates ERAC and could care less. This will all hit them on Sunday afternoon about, oh, I'd say 3:30 and they will spend the rest of the day thinking about how terrible Monday is going to be. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, enjoy your 25 1/2 hour weekend.

You really did work for ERAC didn't you? I used to suspect, and now I know that ERAC is the same in every city. The picture you just painted sounds exactly like my first branch.

B$IAL, your updates are priceless! You hit the nail on the head everytime thats why Branch $$$ and Goofus get so angry...the truth hurts and its their anger and frustration coming out. I know because I was there once too and If I were still at ERAC your posts would make me want to cry!

I know it will piss them off because these are all things that happen. I did all of this, sitting in the office at twenty past 12 with the lights off because some dude said he was "5 minutes away" twenty minutes ago. Dropping cars, shuttling cars, all on Saturday afternoon. And the shakes starting at 3:30-4. I used to watch the Patriots on Sunday at 1 and when the game was over and it was starting to get dark out I would just get miserable. Now I don't think about work until I get up in the morning and I really don't care.

To get the brass ring, you need to show you are mentally strong, iron willed, and disciplined. They don't just hand out company cars and store keys to every lackey that walks though the door. Its a hardball world and you need to prove the U have something to offer. The steely eyed glint you see in any BM or ARM or above means they know people skills, how to negotiate, how to play to strengths, how to play to weaknesses, to how move in for the kill. Did you ever see the movie Wall Street? We are Ruthless like Gordon Gecko, like Tony Montana in a sharp suit.

It's all about running your own deal and staying true to the vision that has rewarded myself and so many others. Not my problem if YOUR vision of success is hazy and unrecognizable. I've been a branch mgr for 3 yrs and I am living the dream.
Damn dude!! Maybe a little green brainwashin goin on in your neck of the woods huh? Bet you bleed green...lol!

You people are the ones brainwashed. Delude your self into thinking you can get by on fluffy hopes and dreams. Like i said, its a hardball world and the currency is benjamins, not flitting along through life like a butterfly. You gotta sacrifice and I know my sacrifice has paid off and will in spades when I become an area manager which is probably within 2 years tops.

I'll be golfing with the boys and watching my business build itself, making my MARK on the world.

ERAC is like a set of tools. In th wrong hands, things just get more messed up. But with the proper motivation and instruction, you can build something impressive that takes on a life of its own.

Have you ever even read The Pupose Driven Life or Who Moved My cheese ? I'm trying to help you guys!
LOL..."what would you say if you weren't afraid??"
