Well my question is this, I worked at ERAC for 3+ years and in that time so lots of people quit or be let go. This started at the bottom with car preps and interns and went right up to ARMs and RRMs. How long does one have to work at this company before you cannot use the line, "couldn't hack it"? I mean, if someone attained the level of RRM it seems that they could hack it no problem. Even ARM seems that they could hack it, they must have known what they were doing. Yet anytime someone leaves it is the same line. How come it is never, "They found something better."? I am being sincere and I want a serious response. Or is it always, no matter what, that a person couldn't hack it? If Andy Taylor left ERAC tomorrow to start his own company would you say he couldn't hack it? |
I couldn't hack it and quit about 3 months ago after four years with the company. I was unable to hack a crappy wage, a long drive to work, being treated like crap from customers all while keeping a smile on my face, long hours, and the constant lies of growth and movement. I couldn't hack it alright. I was able to find a job that I could hack where I get paid a lot more, work a lot less, receive better benefits and feel respected by my peers.
You have to understand that Enterprise works hard at painting a bleak picture of the outside world, and in that world Enterprise is the only solid company. Enterprise describes the outside world as being in constant turmoil with companies always laying off people and providing no internal growth. It's due to these scare tactics (similar to selling the duplicate coverage insurance) that cause people to stay.
If Enterprise started describing movement to other companies as "found something better," than people might actually get a wild idea that they could be worth more than the $12/hour with a college degree. It could give hope to the level 1's and 2's that something is better outside Enterprise. A mass exodus could ensue at Enterprise which could cause Uncle Andy to shell out a little more money from his pocket to be competitive with the wages of other companies. It's best to continue to paint a bleak picture of the outside world all while paying a wage that has some sweat shop owners envious.
