The choice is yours. Are there other opportunities out there for a recent college grad? Maybe, if you have strong technical skills or somethng like that. But don't tell me - as a representative of a multibillion dollar company that has not only made the list of 'best companys to work for', and 'largest hirer of recent college grads', and gives one of the most to the united way, that I've made a bad choice. Its like being on the New England Patriots. You don't always win the super bowl, but you can be sure you're with a strong and proud organization where things are done a certain way that might be different from what you are used to.

The United Way thing is a shakedown of underpaid ERAC employees.
The Best Companys To Work For? Wheres your source?
The largest hirer of college grads is probably true but what about the biggest chew em up and spit em out of college grads? Tell the full truth guy. By the way, the Pats lost in the playoffs the last 2 years. The way you talk about ERAC, its like they were the UCLA Bruins b-ball of the Wooden years.

When I was at ERAC (Canada) there was a 300% turnover rate. That is what makes them the largerest hirer of grads. I am not sure what its like in the States but there are plenty of jobs available to college grads in a non-technical field, making more in the first year than any ERAC MT! It is clear to me that Enterprise was a terrible choice for me and for a lot of other people as well. You dont come accross too many websites titled "failing - insert company name" .com.

I worked at ERAC for 3+ years. I was a BM, worked from 7:30-6:30 everyday and most saturdays. Now I work in Boston doing something with my degree, making the same as I did as a BM only working 35 hours a week. I work in a law firm, one of the largest in the country, and I work in the real estate field. It's great, laid back, people are friendly and not cuthroat. To go back on the Patriots analopy for a moment, the only way that ERAC is like the Pats is when you are performing at #1, then you are the golden child. Once your numbers drop or someone else comes in and outshines you, forget it, you are done. I saw that so many times. Once they are done with you they say thanks and move on. It is a revolving door and it is so sad that you people that are sticking up for it will be back here within a year bitching and moaning after it spit you out.

Its so true, my ex manager was a superstar in the area and once his numbers dropped a bit and MT's started leaving, they canned him without notice. My ex area manager was the person that told me "the grass isn't always greener on the other side", and that was in my exit interview. A few months later he was fired as well. This doesn't normally happen at most companies that I know.

you act as if everyone has a general liberal arts degree
this would be the only case someone would become a MT
a friend of mine recently graduated with a BCM bachelor's degree...starting pay 50k with 10 k in bonus potential
another friend has been working at GM as a engineer for a few yrs...started off at 55k now making upwards to 80k...and this is only with a mechanical engineering bachelors
how can erac possibly compare to this jobs? not even in the same league.
and you are speaking in half sentences
largest hirer of college grads-80% quit the company
best companies to work for-best company to start your career (notice the start, nobody finishes there)
erac just doesn't stack up

People work at ERAC as last resort, if its not your last resort then DON'T DO IT! It might be a good resume builder or a stepping stone if you are an optimist. Don't eat up the bullshit about it being a career, cause its not, its a scam. The best thing you can do is get what you need out of the company if you have to work there and get out. Everyone at ERAC is replaceable, upper management doesn't care if you stay or go as long as they got someone else to fill your spot.

PS--don't trust anyone.

Branch $$$ manager - stop posting guy you have no backers here. the united post is setup so there are tax write offs for corporate. Best companies to work for was a little over a decade ago when there was rapid growth, salaries were high, etc. largest hirer of college grads is pretty obvious, TURNOVER. So Junior STOP DRINKING THE KOOL AID......

Oh, and since the nicer weather is starting I will be clocking out for the day by 4 the latest to head over to the Barking Crab to grab a table on the water and a pitcher of Sam Summer while the E-drones are still taking their three no's. So glad I got out of there. Now I know some lying sack of crap is going to post here and say that he is an ARM and leaves at 2 everyday after spending the entire day on the golf course. That is BS, it didn't happen, stop thinking it did and pull around my SUV you loser!
getting back to the original post:
you know what's fun? Either on friday on your way home from work, or saturday morning on your way to the lake (or golf course or whereever) pass an E lot. Preferably one you used to work at. Watch the E-tards vacuuming, washing, doing the walk-around, it's great. Do it on a nice hot July day and it's that much more gratifying.

To get the brass ring, you need to show you are mentally strong, iron willed, and disciplined. They don't just hand out company cars and store keys to every lackey that walks though the door. Its a hardball world and you need to prove the U have something to offer. The steely eyed glint you see in any BM or ARM or above means they know people skills, how to negotiate, how to play to strengths, how to play to weaknesses, to how move in for the kill. Did you ever see the movie Wall Street? We are Ruthless like Gordon Gecko, like Tony Montana in a sharp suit.

It's all about running your own deal and staying true to the vision that has rewarded myself and so many others. Not my problem if YOUR vision of success is hazy and unrecognizable. I've been a branch mgr for 3 yrs and I am living the dream.
All you ERAC haters have missed the point. Branch $$$ Manager speaks the truth. He makes the perfect example in comparing ERAC to Gordon Gecko in the movie Wallstreet. Everyone has the chance to make it to the top at ERAC... you just have to lie, steal and cheat to get there... just like Mr. Gecko. Sorry, I'd rather work for the company I'm employed with now, a multinational, well respected, billion dollar consulting company that provides value to its clients. Furthermore, the employees are respected and considered the highest asset of the company. I'm allowed to build upon the business skills I have now and continue to develop additional skills with every new project. I'm no longer a chimp brainwashed into suckering others into buying worthless products like DUB ,working at the same deal day after day after day. Thank god I couldn't "hack it" at Enterprise. Drop the green banana! Geesh!
