First off, last weekend was a blast. My wife threw me a little surprise party with 35 friends and family and then on Sunday a bunch of us went to the Patriots game, big fun.

The reason for the early update is that in, oh, just about 10 hours I will be getting on a plane and flying to Amsterdam. AFter a couple of days there it's on to Germany for about 6 days and then to Prague to finish off the trip.

Why am I posting this on the ERAC page as my update, because my wife was able to call my boss in May and set this up as a surprise which she gave me on my birthday. My boss was cool with it and even began shifting my work assignments the past few weeks so that I would be free and clear to head off. Try imagining that happening at E-suck! Could you imagine someone calling an ARM and saying that an employee was getting a surprise trip to Europe for their b-day and to make sure the time off was ok and being told by the ARM that nope, it wouldn't work because that branch is already understaffed and whatever? Man, this is why I love NOT working for ERAC. Oh well, auf wiedersehen!
Good for you man! Have a blast.

Hey STEVE

hold up man i got your back. dont even bother trying to explain anything to these kids. it's like trying to explain magic tricks to five year olds. they dont understand the deal and it just wastes our time. better for them to struggle with the concepts and for us to be satisfied knowing we Can See The Bigger Picture.

i live in a busy community and was still able to get nearly an entire week off on fairly short notice so i could go with my parents on their vacation. don't tell me ERAC doesn't let u take choice time.

plus I'm now rolling an 08 Dogde Stratus on the company plan. sure feels good not to worry about having a reliable car n e more.

Way to pick up on the sarcasm.

To get the brass ring, you need to show you are mentally strong, iron willed, and disciplined. They don't just hand out company cars and store keys to every lackey that walks though the door. Its a hardball world and you need to prove the U have something to offer. The steely eyed glint you see in any BM or ARM or above means they know people skills, how to negotiate, how to play to strengths, how to play to weaknesses, to how move in for the kill. Did you ever see the movie Wall Street? We are Ruthless like Gordon Gecko, like Tony Montana in a sharp suit.

It's all about running your own deal and staying true to the vision that has rewarded myself and so many others. Not my problem if YOUR vision of success is hazy and unrecognizable. I've been a branch mgr for 3 yrs and I am living the dream.
lol see what i mean?

I think he was joking. There is no such thing as a 2008 Dodge Stratus. The Stratus was replaced with the Avenger. If he wasn't joking, you're right he is a tool.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I was at Stop n Shop on rte 30 in Natick, MA today and they are looking for people for their Deli and Bakery Departments. Starting pay is a little over 9.00 an hour so anyone looking to leave ERAC this might be a good out. The pay is pretty much the same as you MTs make now...I'm sure the hours and stress will be much less and the oppurtunity to move up will come a lot quicker. The only downfall is you will probably have to work holidays and weekends...

oh wait you already do.

I know it will suck to have a college degree and be a bakery manager at Stop n Shop but since your degree is wasted at ERAC anyway there isnt much of a difference. Who knows maybe you'll get some free cakes out of the deal.

just an FYI, good luck!
