You really bought into the green kool-aid. I suggest taking lessons in corporate business and macroeconomics and then see what your chances of having financial freedom at ERAC really are. You work in customer service and your skill sets are easily replaced, especially with declining economy nowadays. ERAC's #1 goal is to cut costs and save money during these down times. Maybe you're one of the 0.1% that make it, but if you think you have a good chance of accomplishing your dreams through ERAC, then you're in for a rude awakening.

Hire 10% of the people that interview? Only the "best of the best" right? Where did you get that number from? I know the region I worked in the number was considerably higher than that, and I'd seriously hesitate to call some of the people I worked with "the best of the best".

You think so? Good for you for having goals, but there are just too many qualified people and not enough spots. There's being competitive, and then there's being completely unrealistic. You really think you're in the 1% or less that make it to RVP? Are you willing to bet your entire career on that? Are you willing to seriously consider what your life will be like when you're 45, you've spent your entire adult life working 60 hours a week, you have no real world experience outside of Enterprise and you're stuck waiting for someone to retire or get fired just so you can move up? And as far as having all the luxuries you can ever want, I don't even know how to respond to that. As the poster above said, if you think Enterprise is the way to financial freedom, you might wanna reconsider that before it's too late.

Take it in the ass for a few years? That's the problem with Enterprise employees. You're so brainwashed into thinking that the only way to be financially stable is to stay with the company and chase the dream, that you don't realize that you don't have to take it in the ass for your entire career just to be financially stable. I know, I know, all of your managers told you that Enterprise is the best career in the world, that no other company can give you the opportunity that Enterprise can. You know what? They lied. They also told you that the people who quit couldn't hack it, that they would never amount to anything because they didn't have the desire to succeed at Enterprise. Guess what? They lied again. Not everyone who leaves goes to work at Best Buy or Wal-Mart like they'd like you to believe. I hate to break it to you, but most of us move on to bigger and better things. I know it sucks to realize that people can actually have a career they enjoy, a life outside of work and be financially stable all at the same time. It makes even tougher when your life revolves around your job at Enterprise, where as you said earlier you'll be "taking it in the ass" for the next couple years.

If you really like what you do at Enterprise, then good for you. If you don't and you're just trying to grind it out for that big payday in the future, I hope you wake up before it's too late.

Now, go ahead and justify your job by quoting someone else's paycheck or telling me how much money you're going to make in the future.

Ouch! You think college grads employed at eshame would be able to come up with better arguments to rationalize their existence! But when you think about it on a comparison level, rationalizing a job at ecrap is like rationalizing how stepping in dog shit benefits your shoes. You just cant win the argument.

'Cause all you wimen is low down gamblers,

This low down bitchin' got my poor feet a itchin',
don't you know that duece's stay wild.

Baby, I can't stay, you got to roll me
and call me the tumblin' dice.

Always in a hurry, you never stop to worry,

playin' the field ev'ry night.

Baby, can't stay,
you got to roll me and call me the tumblin' ,
roll me and call me the tumblin' dice.
Got to roll me. Got to roll me.

Let me think a moment before I respond to this. See, work isn't about "taking it up the ass" to succeed. If it is you must be in gay porn. I was a manager at ERAC, made decent $$$. But the thing was I had no life. Only ERAC. I worked 60+ hours a week, would fall asleep on the couch every night, would start thinking about Monday around 4:00 on Sunday night. It sucked. All my friends had good jobs also making decent $$$ but none of the headache or stress I did. I mean really, working at ERAC with the hopes of someday becoming an RVP is dumb. Yes, someone has to get that spot, but someone has to win the lottery too, and it ain't going ro be you! I mean, you probably have a better shot at winning the Powerball. But seriously, work is something that you do to survive. I work so that I can afford to travel. People would get pissed while at ERAC when I took time off. I would get a little jab here and there about how it is my business and do I really want to leave it for a week. Fuck that, I only work to afford the luxury of going to tropical islands and Europe and shit. That is the whole point. Whjat fun is it to work 60+ hours, make money and then not be able to do anything?

And yet it wasn't even really your business.

I really like this forum. ERAC truly did suck ass and I'm glad to have left. I won't say I'm "rolling in the dough" or anything like that, but I did get full tuition waiver plus fellowship cash to law school and business school, so I'm pretty happy and that is what counts.

Anyway, I have a question for anyone who has done a real MBA. I'm a law student / MBA student who is much more serious about law then business. But I see the need to have an MBA (I still won't have an IOU but I would rather have that than a virtual one, think about it, virtual means not real) and I have a question.

I took finite math my first year in college and have not really touched the stuff since.
I have a good semester to kill (since I'm a research ass.((That's kind of funny)) and pretty much live on grants) and was wondering if you guys think I should audit a finite math course (or higher) before the MBA starts. It is doable but I would rather be reading or doing any number of things then taking a math course over.

BTW, to give specifics (so you might be able to tell me exact info knowing the program) I'm going to the U of M law school (J.D.) and Carlson School of Management (M.B.A.) so if you went there or know anyone that did, that would be great if you know the programs.

Best,
Former Minion

P.S. If admin or the site owner is looking at this, I will be looking for internships after 1L and this would be pretty fun to put on the old resume and I imagine this site has it's fair share of legal troubles

If you have any exp. in this area, that would be great.

Oh, and for the record, I don't think I will ever make six figures, even as an attorney.
How do people really make six figures on their first job? I mean, that is a lot of money man!
I will be lucky to make 86K my first year out of law school / business school (median) but six figures?!
Do people realize how much money that is?
Holy shit. I guess if I made that much washing cars it would be ever setting foot in a courtroom but damn!

Also, I really like Corona but it has a weird skunky taste ( I think it's from the sunlight ((clear bottle)) you guys like Blue Moon with an orange? That is a solid brew.
