Default Why do they call it an Accounting/Finance Position?

Do they think everyone is F'ing stupid or something? After gettin a line of garbage from a recruiter with whom I wasted a half hour on the phone I come to find out this position has little to nothing to do with financial analysis...and includes cold calling and washing cars...jerkoff liars.

Apparenly doing JV's and balancing a cash box has everything to do with financial analysis.

Learning how to read a profit statement is a journey all on its own.

I have never seen an accountant at Enterprise wash a car. Most of them have never even written a rental contract. It is a completely separate job. Maybe you applied for an accounting position and they didn't want you there so tried to switch you into a rental position? I have no idea, but I can guarantee their accountants don't wash cars.

Hmmm interesting post, there are two ways that someone can enter into the business management deprtment, through rental or from outside of rental. Beleive it or not knowing what goes on in rental makes the job of a branch accountant a whole lot easier. Personally I had 9 months in rental before I moved over to accounting and it made my job easier. I have seen new hires that were hired from outside the company and yes they have to go through the same training class as a new MT does, and my group had them work in rental for 2 weeks to get a feel for what it is like. So no matter if you are from rental or out outside of the company you have to be in rental for a short while or you will have no clue as to what is going on.

Okay, well what I do know is that the telephone interviewer asked me if I had a clean driving record...right before we hung up. When I told my parents I just got a phone interview for a financial analyst position and was asked about my driving record they immediately got suspicious as did I, Ive been to many interviews and never was asked about my driving record...so obviously this was not your usual analyst position...because those do not require using your own car to do any part of the job. Thats why I think they misrepresented the position.

Currently almost any company that owns company cars that will be used by their employees at any point in time will be concerned about your driving record.
