E-tards also use a lot of profanity, which I attribute to their anger, sadness, frustration, and embarrassment. I dealt with those emotions constantly the two years I worked there.

I'm sure lack of education probably doesn't help too much either... there is a certain white trashness about it!

Yeah, ERAC has long hours, sub-par pay, and you get to run around like all hell has broken loose -- but if you think about it, it's not a bad place to START right out of college. I won't lie, I learned a lot from ERAC my first year and a half or so -- until I started to hate my job soon thereafter. I did get some experience in the "professional" (I use this term loosely when referring to the lower rungs of the ERAC ladder) world that I did not have otherwise. I'm sure my current employer is glad I have more experience than I did before I started w/ ERAC. Everyone should think of it as a place to start, not a place to build a career. Let ERAC spend its time and money training you in various job skills, then take those skills to another company where you'll be able to start higher up and make more money than if you went in at entry level.

I completely agree...everyone starting out at ERAC needs to keep in their head that ERAC is only a stepping stone no matter how much the ERAC BMs and ARMs preach their brainwashing BS.

You should never ever consider staying there longer than 2 years...3 the absolute max, by this point you will have lost contact with your friends and family, have horrible mental and physical health, and generally be stressed out and pissed at the world. My current employer did like the customer service skills, and supervisor/mentoring skills I gained at ERAC. Also, most employers do know that ERACer work their tails off. I do believe that ERAC did help me get my current job but if I could go back I wouldnt of worked there.

On another note I wanted to mention that if you are looking for a stepping stone type job, consider maybe a bank or see if you can get any type of work at the collge you attended rather than erac or anything like that...hell be a car radio salesman at circuit city, you might be happier. I hear even home Depot pays their associates like 12 bucks an hour...check all options before considering ERAC. I wish I had done that myself but I was afraid I wouldnt find anything. When I graduated college the job market was horrible.

Good luck to you all!

I am a career advisor at a state university. Prior to this week we have had a long running relationship with Enterprise and have sent many of our graduates to their company. Enterprise spends millions every year advertising their "Management Training" program in countless universities across the country. Ours was no exception and we received literally thousands of dollars in advertising revenue for our job board and free gifts (dinners, tickets, etc.). I have seen several other advisors bribed by companies like Enterprise into sugar coating the company and even outright lying to students.

Last week one of our advisors was caught by a school administrator attending a sporting event with an Enterprise recruiter, (which was fully paid for by the recruiter). From this week forward Enterprise has been completely banned from recruiting and interviewing at our university. Hopefully this will send a message to Enterprise and to other schools.

Here is what you as a former employee can do:

-Get active in your schools career center and volunteer as an alum advisor. Not only can you advise students concerning your career path but you can also personally warn them against pursuing jobs with disreputable companies like Enterprise.

-Whatever you do don't rent from ERAC!

-Support this website!

Why, what happened to you?

Texas University of San Marcos put the kabosh on these jokers last Spring. Some of the alumni who went to work at Enterprise reported them to the career center about Enterprise blatantly miss leading new hires about salary, benefits, and duration of workweek. Cathi C, former south Texas region T.U. alumni president started working on this the year before last. Her younger sister was recruited, went to an Enterprise function and had to be hospitalized. Turns out she got alcohol poisioning.

If you see their little booth or picnic table on campus, just skip 'em.
