I did get some experience in the "professional" (I use this term loosely when referring to the lower rungs of the ERAC ladder) world that I did not have otherwise. I'm sure my current employer is glad I have more experience than I did before I started w/ ERAC. Everyone should think of it as a place to start, not a place to build a career. Let ERAC spend its time and money training you in various job skills, then take those skills to another company where you'll be able to start higher up and make more money than if you went in at entry level. |
I completely agree...everyone starting out at ERAC needs to keep in their head that ERAC is only a stepping stone no matter how much the ERAC BMs and ARMs preach their brainwashing BS.
You should never ever consider staying there longer than 2 years...3 the absolute max, by this point you will have lost contact with your friends and family, have horrible mental and physical health, and generally be stressed out and pissed at the world. My current employer did like the customer service skills, and supervisor/mentoring skills I gained at ERAC. Also, most employers do know that ERACer work their tails off. I do believe that ERAC did help me get my current job but if I could go back I wouldnt of worked there.
On another note I wanted to mention that if you are looking for a stepping stone type job, consider maybe a bank or see if you can get any type of work at the collge you attended rather than erac or anything like that...hell be a car radio salesman at circuit city, you might be happier. I hear even home Depot pays their associates like 12 bucks an hour...check all options before considering ERAC. I wish I had done that myself but I was afraid I wouldnt find anything. When I graduated college the job market was horrible.
Good luck to you all!
