I've heard stories of cars being stole off of the Enterprise lots, stolen from MT's, and used in police shootings. Usually the car would end up a total loss in some tow lot somewhere with the criminal arrested. With the repo cars, they often did not come in because the customer didn't have the money and thought it was a better idea to keep the car instead(?), because the customer damaged the car and were trying to get their buddy to do some home repair, etc. As for stories...I know one guy who had a second key made, jumped in the car and took off while the customer was in their house. Other time cars were towed out by a tow company after doing a drive-by the customers homes. But often times you go and knock on the door, they give you the key and there's drugs and/or alcohol all over the car and you clean that out and leave. Never got shot at or anything.

I often got stuck getting the car back. I would drive by the reletives house, and go into the war zones. I remember once I went to get the car but only the elderly mother was there. She did tell us (myself and another MT) where he was. We got to the neighborhood I asked the corner drug dealer if he knew him. He pointed right where he was. They saw us and took off. We had that trailblazer going around 70mph on residential. We finally caught them at a corner. He said he was on his way to bring us the cheddar. lol He grabbed his stuff (2 pistols, hash pipe, and cd) and asked for a ride. We told him to walk and then we floored it out of there....hey, he did have a gun.

Best one I have is from when I was an M.A. We did a drive by on this woman who was renting from us and was way behind on payment, saw the car and went back to get a spare key. Went back to get the car later that afternoon, but noticed it about 5 blocks up the street from the renter's house. Turns out, we weren't the only ones looking for the renter or the car. I was getting in the drivers side of the car to head back to the office when a guy asked me who I was and what I was doing with that car, because I wasn't the one he saw park it there. I just said I worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and was picking up a car that belonged to us. I started to get back in the car when the woman who was actually renting the car and another guy came out of the building the car was parked in front of. The first guy who asked me what I was doing with the car was apparently the woman's husband, and wasn't very happy about his wife being around this other guy. A Jerry Springer style brawl ensues involving all three of them and a few neighbors who had come out to see what was going on. The car prep and I watched for a minute, decided we should probably roll and then hopped in the cars and headed back to the office. Have definitely gone on some sketchier, more dangerous repos than that, but this one stands out as the funniest.

I remember my boss went to repo a car and he was a short shit. 5'7 bald headed maybe weighed 150 pounds. He brought me along being a little bigger but I was like fuck this shit if im getting my ass kicked. He walks up to the door and Some huge as dude walks out and was like son how much do you get paid to my boss? My Boss well that really doesent matter. He looks at my boss and goes son its not enough for me to kick your ass. I started to laugh right there. The guy looked at me and I was like I heard that. We ended up slashing the tires and having the car towed back to us.

My Last repo, certainly not the most eventful, stands out because of who it was and the car we had to take back. A rather well known r&b singer turned actor, let's just call him 2Fast 2Furious rents a kia rio (no joke, a kia rio). and then disappears on location to film his next movie. He gets 10 days behind, because we later found out his card was reported stolen and we have to go find this car without him in the country. We get to the house and there's a whole entourage of guys sitting on the car. Big mean looking mofos too. They were cool, said Mr. Furious had called them like 4 days ago and told them to give the car back, and they just hadn't gotten around to it. I guess this just proves you can take the boy outta the hood but you can't take the hood outta the boy, right FaveAAR?
