Man- that suck's. I can't say I haven't been there myself- but that just bites. I wonder where the ESQI will be in the upcomming month's.

Maybe I can make you laugh. I am a branch manager adn I still work for enterprise. Today- a guy; let's call him DickWeed- called me on Friday at 3 p.m.- same scenario- 2 employee's no prep 100 cars. and he DEMANDS to be picked up in 9 minutes. I said- look pal you are a 25 minute drive from here, i have four customers in front of me and five lines on hold, furthermore- i haven't yet been issued my standard Enterprise Helicopter license to swoop down and pick you up. With that being said- He started in on me screaming that he used to work at enterprise and this is F**cking ridiculas. I said- pal, I realize I am being sarcastic- but your expectation of what I can do for you is WAY to high. Non- the less I will find a way to pick you up by 4- just one after after a pop fly call 25 minutes away and being insulted. I actually (the branch manager) drove out to pick him up and after driving the 25 minutes to find no customer at all. abandoned car- so I left to get back to the office where this guy was all up in my face screaming at that top of his lungs with an office full of customer's; oh yeah in his friends car. I said look man- you have some issue's you don't need a car- YOU NEED DR. PHil. some funny shit huh. obviously he asked to call my area manager- whatever jerky- bottom line- no rental car for you today, tomorrow, NEVER pal. lets call him outside. He wouldn't leave- so I "litterally" carried him out of the office up in the air by his waist and belt. I called my area manager and told him I had a frigggin' lunatic in front of me I wasn't renting a car too and if he wanted to call back that's cool- but I personally wouldn't waste my time. The guy cussed me out one more time and I told him to go suck it and don't waste my air, GO POUND SAND.

all true- and pretty normal day- the humor of it makes me laugh- my employees are laughing all day long.

The funny thing about taking my choice time days b4 I quit is the my BM won't ever let me take a day off. The only way to get a day off is to call in sick. I'd feel crappy about doing that because we are so short staffed. Plus, the time I did take a day off, a certain BigWig, asked me if I was a part-timer. Last week I put in 61 miserable hours. I'd love about a month off.

Just invent a customer pick up for yourself about half an hour away (don't forget to book in a "reservation"). . . then come back to the branch an hour and a half or two hours later and say that the customer took forever to get ready and then once he/she was about to leave home, the phone rang and his/her plans changed, so he/she no longer needed to rent. When you return to the branch, feign irritation, but don't overplay your hand. This way, you'll get that much needed mental health "lunch" but don't make it a regular thing. Of course, there are variations on this theme: book in a dealership or autobody shop deal half an hour early and then say the customer was late but the service manager/shop boss was impressed with your willingness to stick around, etc., etc. Half an hour here, an hour there - you'll save yourself a bit better this way and it's nice to stick it to the fuckers above you who think working 55-60 hours per week is healthy (for them, naturally).
