When you get your monthly period, do you run around with crusty blood in your panties?

A couple years ago, a few people were arguing about how many contracts one wrote in a month. When I was the top MA at a 140 car branch, I used to write 250 or more a month simply by virtue that we only had 3 full-time employees, and we had a short rental period average.

I did not sell 53% DW, in fact I think I was around 25 or 30% as I was honest with individuals.

However, a few branches in my group did sell 50 or 60% DW but not because they were "good" sales people. One of the fundamental flaws with ERAC's matrix is that DW, for instance, is often contractually required with certain corporations and/or institutions. Therefore, if you have 600 contracts a month at a particular branch, and 300 come from a client who requires their employees to take DW (at a discount, like 7 bucks a day), then of course those employees are going to appear to be selling a LOT of DW when in fact they aren't selling it at all.

For me, the biggest problem with ERAC is that while I was there they constantly harped on so called "objective" performance measures that were hardly objective at all. The DW contracts, the 2 p.m. "holds," the flawed ESQIs, and fleet growth which was often an indication of luck (for instance, in a town of about 50,000.00 both Hertz and Avis closed.).

take some turtle wax rubbing compound, mix it with some fuel additive, and pour the whole thing down the gas tank. also mix some of the rubbing compound with oil and transmission fluid and pour it down their appropriate recepticales. anything with moving parts and the engine/transmission will sand themselves apart. they'll never know what hit them until a few days later and the branch gets ox'd for it when they swap shit.

Here are some immature but gratifying stunts I did: About 2 months before I had to move, (military spouse) I showed up about half hour to 45 minutes late almost every day. I didn't show up on a Saturday. I used my personal days and burned through my vacation days. Sometimes after eating mexican food for lunch, I would fart in the cars just before giving them to the customers (really effective in very hot weather because then the customers had to roll down their windows!) I put an opened can of tuna fish in my branch managers office desk. I put non-smoking customers in unprepped smoked filled cars. I quit cash-qualifying customers altogether because they werent worth my effort. I quit collecting the fuel fee, which led to fireworks when they returned the cars to find out they "owed money".
I "accidentally soaked" the bitchy area HR rep lady while prepping a car (I could see right through that wet blouse!)
At an ERAC luncheon, I told a couple of State Farm Adjusters in an insulting manner that their client's concerns really didn't matter because they were "too pushy".
And before I left, I threw away all of the reservations for customers with specific requests (vans, cadillacs, trucks ect) and then mis-filed all the rest.
On my last day I took a few calls and answered as the BM (he was playing golf yet again with the "higher ups") quoting dirt cheap rates on everything for reservations but never filled anything out. I laughed out loud in a customers face and wished him good luck when he "demanded a new Maxima for his rental because he drove a 1987 Maxima" (when his insurance ALLSTATE would only pay $18.50 a day). I chitted out a two hour lunch to the tune of $66.00 under sales calls. My very last customer called at around 2 minutes before closing (see my other post on this one) but I never picked her up.
So you see you can have just a little fun before you leave. Good Luck to those who have left and are trying to leave-IF YOU PUT UP WITH ERAC, YOU WILL CERTAINLY SUCCEED IN ANYTHING YOU DO AFTER ERAC
Wow...first time I have seen this site. As I read these postings I really have to wonder about the character of those who post all these slams on the company. I left two years ago and sincerely regret it. I was pissed and unhappy at the time I left but quite frankly I would have never lowered myself to the level of taking out the company here. I read this stuff and I know who you pussies really are.....you are the ones that never had the courage to address the issues when you worked there but you are so passive-aggressive that you can't wait to get home to the security of your home and bitch. In addition to that you made sure you never performed so you had something to bitch about. When you are 50 yrs old and mad about where you are in life...hopefully you have the courage to look at yourself inwardly because you are the reason you are a 50yr old fuck-up. Please...please.,never let my children grow up to be cowards like you. In any event...I left. Thought it was a good choice at the time and I am happy now but I wish I would have stayed. I hated the hours but quite frankly I would take the longer hours of a Area Manager than the shorter hours of what I do today. I tried to go back a year after I left but was given some song and dance about precedence...blah, blah, blah. Do what you want but at some point in your life you are going to need to suck it up....I wish I would have two years ago. Those of you who never do...keep telling yourself how unfair this world is and you will wake up one day with nothing but your anonymous blogs you won't claim ownership to anyone.

Err, not quite. I've raised my concerns many a time with HR, my Branch Manager and my Area Manager and nothing gets done. I'm sick and tired of having my weekly performance meeting and being asked "what's wrong?" I tell my manager what's wrong every week, and nothing gets changed, because ERAC never believes anything ever is wrong!

And before anyone tries to say I'm shit, I've made Elite Club six times in 13 months. People come on here to let off steam and have a laugh. Because if we didn't laugh about it we'd be bloody suicidal.
